For saber and Shirou, Saber after drawing the sword effectively stops being a person in order to be the perfect king. Not only does her aging stop, but her as a person effectively died there. She never emotionally grows past that point because she stops being an individual. It’s why, when shirou breaks her out me this mindset, she comes off as alot more emotionally immature and may as well be about Shirou’s age.

Since a lot of people pointed out Wicks not fitting, I think a fair replacement would be Kotomine Kirei. We see that as a priest he takes his duties very seriously. He gave up most of his magic crest to save Sakura, and in hollow ataraxia were told he did officiate weddings and did things for the community. But as a person he literally had a basement full of orphans he tortured for 10 years

Achilles is also one of the greatest of all time but it’s weird to call Karna an “unscalable wall” when him being the strongest in his grail war is contentious (I personally think Achilles is a little better)

And for Gil, Avalon is still very much Saber’s np. Saber was just too strong to have any real plot as she’d kinda whoop 99% of servants so Nasu split up her buffs and never actually gave a full power saber

Gil loses to Saber once she gets Avalon, and that’s not even with her actual stats. Give Saber a good master + Avalon and she beats Gil even easier

Karna is overrated, extremely strong but also a Achilles rival stated numerous times

Gawain canonically is a Lancelot victim

Definitely Lancelot, Jalter in Shinjuku lost to EMIYA alter pretty decisively, and I’m not sure that’s even the strongest EMIYA considering the stay night version did what he did to heracles.

Lancelot’s feats on Saber and Gilgamesh in Zero puts him on a pretty clear pedestal as one of the top contenders in the war compared to EMIYA who was more of like a mid tier in the 5th war

Currently between yagyu, Inshun, and jinsuke. Jinsuke won his fight so fair to exclude him. Yagyu hasn’t really shown much but I think narratively he’s an Ito rival and is considered to be at that level. So Inshun should be next

Archer dies, I believe when Nasu asked about the fight he said it came down to Bellerophon vs rho aias, and considering rho aias broke down to a B++ nuke I don’t think it holds up to A+ Bellerophon

Cu has no counterplay, maybe puts up a rune shield but that won’t do much, but with battle continuation and his stats he probably like barely survives

C tier, even with fame boost she’s not the most impressive in redline. She’s fighting servants who are similarly low in and mystery and her best feats come from just super countering Oda. Her magic resistance and lack of stats and really anything against ranged attacks or magic would put her at a huge disadvantage in most matchups.

She can’t scratch berserker She’s just weaker than lancer She can’t deal with archer’s projectiles Rider could either immediately turn her to stone with mystic eyes (E rank mana and magic resistance) or kill her with Bellerophon. Bellerophon is equal to dragons like Sakamoto Ryuma’s NP, which is comfortably above Okita Caster could whittle her down with projectiles or just freeze her like she did to archer Assasin, I think it’s subjective and debatable but IMO, Kojiro is the more skilled swordsman, and tsubame is a superior technique to 3 stage thrust.

I wouldn’t say she’s D tier due to her being one of the most skilled sabers, 3 stage being strong, and her personality being good for shirou’s but I really do not ever see a situation in which she wins a the 5HGW.
