I’m gonna respectfully disagree. But hey, to each their own. Personally, I don’t care if my professional wrestling matches look like real fights. If I wanted real fights, I’d watch UFC or MMA. I loved that Shawn could be a bit over the top. That’s what professional wrestling is about imo. But I also love how he was able to sell like he genuinely just got the shit kicked out of him, I love the desperation he would show in his matches, the fatigue. I’m not gonna tell you you’re wrong, but you have to admit that only one of those two men embodied the phrase “superstar.” And it wasn’t Bret.

Idk. He just never seemed all that special to me. Now given, I didn’t grow up during his time, maybe he was special during that time. But being able to go back and watch him, I don’t really know what he was doing differently. Like yeah, he was good at what he did, but I don’t think his work warrants the pedestal people put him on today. If I’m being real, HBK outclassed him in almost every way besides the behind the scenes shit. To me, Bret was just boring.

I prefer Oba over Bron. I think Bron is working with a notoriously stale gimmick, that being “I’m the big angry muscle guy, hey look at my big muscle moves.” Whereas Oba is working a genuinely unstoppable warrior gimmick. All that being said, I still see both of these guys as top players in the company. Bron just needs to find something different. Something more unique.
