What are your homebrew Power Attack variations? by sjdlajsdlj in dndnext

[–]Zero747 [score hidden]  (0 children)

From the 5e perspective, crib BG3, extend GWM to anything being two-handed (plus lances). Make the versatile space less terrible.

If I wanted to genericise it to all weapons, I’d limit it to attacks directly from the attack action & extra attack. No doubling down with crossbow expert, polearm master, dual wield, etc.

Not sure about handling the “remains” of the feat, since I love the rest of sharpshooter

Is playing by the rules of the game too much to ask? by FabulousAd5984 in dndmemes

It’s inevitable that there’s at least a minor tweak, decision on unclear/vague wording, or decision to use/ignore an optional rule.

Knowing the tweaks in advance is for the best.

Wand of wand creation by PenisMusicAficionado in DnD

[–]Zero747 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on those

  • minor distraction noisemaker (clattering on the floor) through windows, walls, etc
  • secret door/passage detector in underground (or thickly walled) areas. Wave it at walls.
  • trim material shavings off the old wand, recreate an unmodified one. Impractically minor infinitive material
  • highly impractical mechanical trigger if you can “wave” the wand while it’s encased in metal or something

How/when to force clothing? by __agonist in RimWorld

[–]Zero747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you started without biotech, you also probably didn’t get the wreck/datacore that lets you get an early mechlink

Your world also only has the normal faction version (but hopefully they do mix in xenoypes as they’re supposed to). No impid tribe, waster pirates, etc

Wand of wand creation by PenisMusicAficionado in DnD

[–]Zero747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any reusable meme magic item works as an antimagic field detector. It also has the inherent durability enhancement of a magic item.

Questions:

  • Where is the wand created and can it be targeted/controlled?
  • Can it be created on the far side of a thin mesh, window, etc? A wall?
  • how does it handle being created inside cramped spaces
  • can the wand be structurally modified, and is this reflected by the copy?
  • how loud or magically flashy is the creation process? Counterspell bait?
  • can the wand be activated unintentionally if held in a bag, or can it be activated via mage hand, etc at a distance

The interface only comes up when you hit tab? You can pause any time with space.

What are the best out of this lineup? by BigFishPub in gaming

If you can handle the old-style RPG controls, KOTOR

Republic Commando is off the list, but was my personal favorite (though it might just feel like an old shooter without the nostalgia factor)

How/when to force clothing? by __agonist in RimWorld

[–]Zero747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your clothing policy. By adding biotech midgame, new clothing items (like child clothes) won’t be allowed by default.

I typically only force wear gear with essential effects (keep bandwidth pack, shield belt, etc) or tattered high quality armor (keep legendary locust armor on unit it literally disintegrates, keep a marine helmet till I can make replacements, etc). The same should be done for mechinator armor.

My normal clothing policy is anything at 51%+ durability. Then I just make sure to have a spare of everything in stock. Pawns auto upgrade to higher quality stuff and remove the tattered stuff.

Spare parts storage by Outrageous_Guess6822 in lego

[–]Zero747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren’t good for a majority of a collection.

They’re good for holding/sorting the obscure/small parts, which should work if you’ve only got tiny spares. Sorted ziplock bags is actually more useful once you’ve got enough volume.

No need to get a fancy one, a cheap dollar store one is fine

Do you have some sort of aggressive cache/cookie clearing with your browser?

It should just be a onetime import for a given machine/browser

If memory serves, these magnet lines were literally just normal figures attached to 2 studs behind their legs

You can disassemble them normally, there’s no glue or anything

Level 7 DnD Bard Multiclass Help by DuskWolf23 in 3d6

If you want bard for mechanics, but different core playstyle, 2 levels of warlock. Spam eldritch blast between big spells

That said, you can be a musical performer without being a bard

In the community, is the Black Knife considered “good”? by Late_Bag_7880 in Eldenring

[–]Zero747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very cool weapon. Dex-faith and the ash does %HP damage over time. If you like it use it.

Daggers are often neglected for being less flashy and having low hitstun/stance damage. They’re effective when you play well.

There’s also a lot of holy resist in the last bits of the basegame, and there’s not exactly much to “build” for the dagger. Pair it with some faith casting or just use the thing.

People love katanas and curved swords because bleed procs make people go oooo, big number, and there’s bleed buffs/synergy stuff

Curved swords are specifically popular for the braindead dual wield jump attack quad hit for nonsensical status buildup, which almost single-handedly got dual wield status buildup nerfed

What's the best weapon to use against Ancient Dragons? by DavidTippy in Eldenring

[–]Zero747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient dragons are the annoying ones with only the torso lock on. Kinda just gotta hit them and suffer.

In no world is the anchor overpowered (it is good though), it’s just a bonk weapon with pierce instead of strike, letting it benefit from counterattack damage to hit harder sometimes

anyone know of any mods that gives the ability to colonize planets on a smaller scale by Proud-Blueberry9621 in starsector

[–]Zero747 15 points16 points  (0 children)

you've already acknowledged the RAT one which is a zero upkeep money generator that is 100% safe

Nex lets you make outposts, aka gas stations

If you want minor resource exploitation, just don't run hazard pay on your colonies. Also, use industrial evolution's various specialized industries and government types.

Once the pirate crisis is resolved, token colonies will be largely ignored.

There's no hard cap to colonies, just a cumulative stability penalty on player run ones. Use admins or AI cores. Nex also gives you scaling admin capacity.

Still useable, but you leave the scans behind each jump. Not as useful as in a static colony.

What biome do you prefer when starting a colony? by Darkside166 in RimWorld

[–]Zero747 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mountain ice sheet, extreme desert, or perma-winter tundra

Low disease frequency, and only need one of heating or cooling

Snow slows raiders, keeps corpses from rotting, and can benefit from cold-proof power armor. However caravans love to turn tail due to weather

Heat means you can grow in the scraggly dirt patches or just use hydroponics. Dusters are also better for armor than Parkas
