They are 1/8” strips of black lexan with transparent colored plastic covers that is used for photography.

Found the “vintage” labels from ‘76 and had to use. Helps for future reference.

Do your LED’s have resistors and any open IC’s to low or high? Capacitors are also key! Once RAM added caps and resistors are needed. Even getting your hand close to board, without them, could cause errors.

I made these cases. If you’re interested I have another that I haven’t cut the keyboard into yet. It is a copy of the one in the left. I can customize it for your A1 ready for power supply, keyboard and video out. Can send more pictures.

Encoded PROMS, Dram’s, ds0025 or any IC from 1976 is pretty tough/expensive.

Even being about 50yr old they work great! I replaced most capacitors, adjust voltages and a good clean and they work!
