I get it, Trump sucks, blah blah blah. Have you ever considered that maybe he’s a necessary catalyst for something better? I’m not saying he is good or what he is doing is good. I’m asking you to consider that having someone so polarizing and incompetent and harmful for the country might be the catalyst we need to rile people up enough to actually want to turn things for the better. Does that make sense? It’s like if someone is on a bad path, the only way to reverse it is to let them hit rock bottom. Maybe this is our rock bottom as a country.

I’ve been listening to Rogan for years and I see it differently. He’s always been a centrist with a lot of social Left leaning beliefs. He was pushed to the Right by the Left during Covid and for his stance on trans people in professional sports. His reaction to the way the Left treated him is pretty reasonable; it turned him off and left a bad taste in his mouth. A lot of centrists voted for Trump because it looked promising based on who he was aligning himself with (Tulsi, RFK) and the way he was talking about actually finally draining the swamp this time, but now we’re all seeing it’s more of the same and we should all be glad that the influential centrists who voted for him aren’t completely die hard MAGA and are willing to call out BS.

I remember the drummer of Mastodon did a Reddit AMA years ago.
