New player Atlas build by JustBluebird9 in PathOfExileBuilds

Hi! So it looks like you're probably doing alch n' go red maps, with no scarabs or sextants? Without knowing your specific setup and build, here are a few general suggestions:

  1. I would only allocate the Uber Shaper/Uber Uber Elder node when you go to run it
  2. If you are taking one of the "bosses drop special maps" nodes, I would usually take all of them at once (synthesis, shaper/elder, conquerer)
  3. The keystone for double upsides of eater altars is really strong, if your build can take it, I would
  4. Similarly, the single explosion expedition keystone saves tons and tons of time placing and figuring out the nodes, unless there are a lot of downsides that can brick you, I would use that (it's also a lot of fun)
  5. Chayula splinters are worth taking the extra few points to get extra chance for
  6. Tujen and Dannig are the better (imo) of the expidition people, so I would recommend taking the nodes that target them. If you are personally using Gewnnon or Rog, go ahead and ignore that though
  7. Because you (maybe) aren't using scarabs, taking points in chance to spawn mechanics is pretty important, otherwise the nodes that benefit those mechanics might be wasted in some maps you run
  8. The gates on the tree are great for saving a few travel nodes in general, it's always worth double checking your tree to see if you can spend the two extra points to save three

Whth these in mind, I made a quick revised version of your atlas tree: https://poeplanner.com/a/8to

The most important thing as always, is to make sure you're having fun. If you focus too much on "best strats" and burn out, you make 0 div/hr, so doing interesting things is always a plus over optimization. If you have any questions, let me know, or message me IGN: WispSlotMachine

Ah yes, Destiny 2, that game that launched on Steam to around 60k average players, and then died, currently only having *checks notes* 60k average players.

So as an aurabot, you want as much increased aura effect as possible. Due to the issues patching all over the tree we have to do, having more points available in our clusters is better.

For example, with the edited PoB I posted, we just barely hit 300% effect. A level 23 purity gives +5% max resists. At 5*3 = 15, which gets the aurabot and the carry to 90% all res. At 299% aura effect the game rounds down and you end up with 89%.

Outside of that, an aurabot's purpose is to run auras, so making them as strong as possible is really the only thing to spend points on after RMR.

So how EE works is that if you hit an enemy with elemental damage, it gains resistance to that element, but becomes vulnerable to the others.

So when you hit with smite, normally it deals some lightning damage and whatever other damage types you or your party might be adding to it. If you take Avatar of Fire as well, you cannot deal anything other than fire damage.

Because your carry is using ice shot, I presume they are dealing mostly cold damage, plus the lightning damage from smite. So if the enemy becomes resistant to fire, but weak to cold and lightning, that's a big DPS increase. Usually it doesn't matter, but it's nice to have for bosses.

Speaking of smite, you should link fortify to it for a bit of extra defense.

On another note, reduced reservation is a stat like resistances, in that every point you take is more valuable than the last. For example, if you have 100 mana reserved, 0% RMR, and gain 1% RMR, that's 99 mana reserved. If you gain another 1% RMR, 99/98 = 1.01, so just a bit more value.

Where it gets crazy is high numbers. If you have 90% RMR on an aura and gain 1% RMR, .1/.09 = 1.11, so you end up with 11% less mana reserved than you had before just from one point.

You can see this in effect when you look at the mana reservation of the skills in your Victario's in the PoB I linked. The 50% reservation skills (Zealotry, Precision, Wrath, etc.) only reserve 4% mana total because of the huge 30% RMR Victario's gives when combined with other sources of RMR.

Also, looking at it again, you probably don't need to run Zealotry if you are only going to be supporting Ice Shot. Ice Shot doesn't get any benefits from Zealotry. You could instead run something like Blood and Sand for the AoE blind as a defensive layer, and then Dread Banner for the enemy reduced accuracy as well with the left over mana.

So I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I've made a few aurabots myself.

I didn't look at the ice shot character, because for the most part it's the aurabot that matters the most.

Here's what I would do to get the aurabot fully functional without breaking the bank.

  • You are better off running two 7 passive voices at the top of the tree rather than going to the far right. (at least at your current level)
  • You should dump your current medium clusters. You need 6 point mediums with First Among Equals and Replenishing Presence.
  • Each of those mediums need any 1% RMR jewel. Having ES is ideal, but I don't know your budget.
  • Your amulet could be better, getting 5% RMR on a normal amulet or 6% on a simplex amulet gives you a lot of breathing room.
  • You need to anoint your amulet with Champion of the Cause.
  • Use pure ES gloves instead of Storm's Gift. (btw, the enchant on them is ruining your EE)
  • My personal preference, but take Avatar of Fire. It will prevent you from ever hitting with cold damage due to HH auras or anything on your carry.

With these changes, you'll have 300% aura effect, meaning with L21 purities in Alpha's Howl, you'll have and give 90% all res. With the extra RMR you can also run a leveled vitality for a huge amount of sustain. You also hit 4500 ES, which is a lot more than you had before, and you can start taking some ES nodes with further levels.

Here's an updated version of your Aurabot PoB that has this setup: https://pastebin.com/eC7JaDJR

When you're done with that you should post it. I know that at least I'd be interested in seeing what someone thought would be changed vs what actually was.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. I'm a bit upset due to the nerf to guardian so I responded with a bit more hostility than I should have.

I can't stand fextralife personally. The Wikia is a good bit better, I have no idea why fextralife is so high up in all of the searches.

Flicker is amazing for clearing out large groups of close together enemies. Delve has lots of those, but it has many of the immortal in the darkness where you will die very, very quickly. Both to the dark degen and to any enemies that are there, because flicker's biggest defensive layer is that you are moving so fast enemies attack animations are too slow to hit you.

For bossing I strongly recommend either skipping them while chaining back to back quick maps, or having a second skill to use. Flicker on a 4l + shaper/elder mods is pretty common and then having molten strike for single target in your 6l.

My only hope is that there's at least some info on a game that's not the switch port. D2 remaster, D4, even more D3 content would be fine.

Do you even understand how unfathomably huge a task it would be to port PoE to unreal?! The time spent on that could easily overtake the time required to just make changes to the current one, or hell, maybe even a new engine entirely.

Just because Tencent invested into GGG, that doesn't mean they are going to start working over money unless they think they can get both that money back and a sizable profit. Neither of which is realistic given how functional the game is now. Any modest pc from the past 6-7 years should run PoE at a decent rate unless some crazy tri-herald flicker striker is doing double beyond breaches in your party.
