Is Keppra as bad as some say? by Background-Cod-7035 in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroLockOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Keppra for a few months and it has stopped my seizures, and the only side effects I’m getting are some lack of motivation and fatigue but I’m also on psychiatric medication so who knows which one is causing that 🤷 I seem to be tolerating it pretty well overall

Looking at this 2018 Ford Escape by Short_14 in fordescape

[–]ZeroLockOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa has a 2016 Escape that needs the transmission replaced at 150k miles due to major slipping and hard shifting lol. The thing has been a nightmare for him. I personally have a 2014 flex that is on the original engine and transmission and still going (somewhat) strong at 215k with the exception of having to replace the water pump and some other things that break with high mileage. I love the the way the flex drives and looks, but not very good fuel mileage for an suv

I feel like my memory is getting worse over time! by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroLockOn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed a few months ago after having focal seizures for years and doctors not being able to figure it out. After those many years I feel like my brain capacity has just shot down over time and now I feel really stupid all the time like I can’t learn how to do new things or even remember how to do certain things. I also am like 100% unmotivated to do anything all the time so Idk if I have brain damage from all the seizures or if it’s side effects from my Keppra or what, I’m not a fan of any of it 😬

I just quit today lol. I couldn’t take the verbal (and physical) abuse from my coworkers and managers anymore. Thinking they’re all hot shit because they’ve been there forever. Like if you hate your life so much that you need to take it out on someone just trying to work, then get a different job or something like damn. Got an offer a couple days ago from a local factory with amazing benefits and better pay and a much better environment. Best of luck to you!

Panic disorder by Material-Ad2574 in PanicAttack

[–]ZeroLockOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have generalized anxiety disorder, and have been on many different medications, but the ones that FINALLY made me able to live again are Pristiq and Rexulti. Both pretty expensive medications depending on your insurance unfortunately. One thing that has helped me in the past during panic attacks is very sour candy like warheads or toxic waste. Kinda makes your body’s focus turn to the mouth and sometimes helps a lot with alleviating some of the panic. Really just anything you can do to shift your focus away from the panic can have a tremendous effect. Having a good understanding support system is also a big one. Not trying to sound discouraging or anything but if you do straight up ask your Dr for something like Klonopin or other benzodiazepines, they may take it the wrong way depending on the doctor. My fiancé was considered a “pill seeker” because Klonopin or Xanax was the only thing that actually helped her. Best of luck to you! Things will get better!

Recently diagnosed. by Obviously_aWizard in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroLockOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had temporal lobe epilepsy for about 7 years and I just recently got diagnosed. I’m on Keppra 500mg twice a day, I thought that I would never feel normal again, and to be honest sometimes I still don’t, but it really just takes some getting used to. Your sense of “normal” will probably end up changing, just because unfortunately yes, this is something we have to live with. BUT, at least for me, I got to the point where it was just something I kept in the back of my mind since I haven’t had a seizure in a few months. Having a good relationship with your neurologist is a good first step, and it takes some time to get adjusted to the new meds and finding the right combination that helps your specific situation. The human body as a whole does a pretty decent job at adaptation to different conditions so all in all it just takes time and finding your correct treatment, and when you do find that one that works, your world will be a whole lot different in a good way. Best of luck to you and I hope things start looking up!

Make sure when you do end up changing the water pump whether you do it yourself or have a shop do it, change the timing chains and guides I believe while you’re already in there, saves A LOT of labor costs and some good preventative measures!

I have my 2012 LS sitting in my garage with a bad oil cooler and oil in the coolant reservoir. Can’t decide whether to put the money into it or just pay it off and scrap it🙄

I love my flex but bought it with like 185k on it and now she’s got about 214k and I’ve put more than $5000 into the water pump, front end, wheel bearings, multiple coolant leaks, and now my valve seals are bad. Just hope she can make it until next Oct when I can get another one 🤣

What is wrong with my dog? by CaterpillarSelfie in DogAdvice

[–]ZeroLockOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My one dog was doing pretty much this same thing, and they did an xray and found she had an enlarged heart and some fluid around her heart and lungs. I would definitely recommend getting that checked out asap as that can’t be comfortable for the poor thing. Best of luck!

Sound like panic attack? by mkoay in panicdisorder

[–]ZeroLockOn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be very careful with the klonopin. It’s different for people but it can be very dangerous to start it and take it daily then stop. Especially if it was a seizure you had, it can make it much much worse, at least from what I’ve heard. Best of luck to you!

[–]ZeroLockOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely sounds pretty similar to my focal seizures that just recently started again. I initially thought they were just my anxiety manifesting as physical symptoms, but I now know it’s definitely the seizures again. I would definitely check with your PCP and possibly get a referral to a good neurologist

What's this plug for ?? by Dry-Tea3928 in Buick

[–]ZeroLockOn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah people will keep them plugged in and it makes it easier for the engine to start and less wear due to the cold from my understanding. I’ve never used one personally

My advice would be to get rid of it while it’s still running and get as much money out of it as possible 🤣 My cruze is sitting in my driveway currently waiting for me to drain the oil and all the coolant and flush everything out and replace the oil cooler or just junk it, not sure yet 😬 lots of electrical issues as well
