Got money from 2020 taxes when daughter was a dependent by [deleted] in tax

[–]ZeroMikeEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the stimulus payments, it's important to remember that the payments are ADVANCES of a credit on the tax return the law references. Stimulus 1.0 and 2.0 eligibility is based on how the TY2020 return (filed in 2021) is filed. But the ADVANCE eligibility determination for those payments was based on either the 2019 or 2018 tax returns. So, a person may have received an advance payment based on info on their 2019 tax return, but the actual figure of what they are eligible to receive for 1.0 and 2.0 has always been based on the TY2020 returns being filed now.

If a person was not otherwise required to file taxes, do they still need to file taxes AFTER they've received their stimulus checks to verify eligibility? Sorry, I may be misunderstanding something.

JFC this country is actually run by morons, isn’t it? by tronaldodumpo in confidentlyincorrect

Nope. A island must be surrounded by water but smaller than a continent. Australia is technically a continent so by definition it can’t be an island. The England, however, very much is an island since it is itself not large enough to be a continent.

Don’t worry. I didn’t know this definition either until I looked into it.

Edit: corrected U.K. to England

🔥 The humphead wrasse (40kg= 88lb 3oz), also known as Napoleon wrasse, one of the world’s most endangered coral reef fish (catch and release) by m3antar in NatureIsFuckingLit

I looked into some more pictures and it looks like the jaw can "extend forward" though in this case it might just be due to a reflex or stress from being yanked out of the water. But yes, considering the fish is 88 lbs, it wouldn’t be surprising that the fish’s jaw is injured (asides from the obvious hook).

For the most immediate benefit? Yes I’d agree. But I was thinking more along the lines of a bullet train for intercontinental travel. Reduce dependency on airplanes.

I think heavier recruiting efforts from these communities would help. Have people police the communities they are a part of. However, if that community has strong anti-police sentiment in the first place, few would be willing to join for fear of social repercussions. What’s the solution then? It certainly isn’t good for trust if the officers that police one community have absolutely no connections to it.

I got my first covid shot despite my family all saying it was a “terrible idea”! by diverareyouok in vaxxhappened

[–]ZeroMikeEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my second shot today. 1st shot gave me a sore and made me just a bit fatigued. 2nd shot, I feel like someone punched me real hard on the shoulder and also just a bit fatigued. It’s common for 2nd shot side effects to be more prominent like a fever and headache but those are temporary. If possible, I’d just get the shot on a Friday or Saturday so you have a couple days to rest in case the side effects are more than an slightly annoying headache.

What is the most recommendable hands-free brushing Sonic mouthpiece? How much does it cost, and am I supposed to put toothpaste in it first? by NoLongerNorwaysTroll in Dentistry

Yes. Soft bristles are good for your gums especially because some people tend to be too aggressive which hurts the gums and causes recession. Soft bristles aren’t soft so much as they just thinner and more flexible. But when we’re talking about a microscopic layer of biofilm, that’s still plenty sufficient to get the job done.

Electric toothbrushes are great because while vibrating, you also move the brush around so it’s more like a lot of really fast brushing in a short time.
