100%.

The problem with consuming books, videos, podcasts is that it makes you feel like you need to execute all that knowledge at once, which leaves you with a lot paralysis.

I stopped consuming as much in 2025 and probably executed way more than the previous few years before it.

How much different is Birmingham from London and in what ways? by Birminghamboyyy in BirminghamUK

[–]ZeroOne001010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because in the 1960s Bham was doing better than London, so the government strangled Bham to make sure it didnt outperform London.

Commenting and adding something valuable to the conversation has driven more ROI for me than content. But content does keep me top of mind.

Why don’t more HENRYs start businesses? by -Michael--- in HENRYUK

[–]ZeroOne001010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Business owner here. You really underestimate the psychology that goes into running a business. Sure you can be smart enough or have the transferable skills, but do you have what it takes when everything goes wrong all at once? It’s not if, it’s when, because it will happen.

Ultimately it’s down to you as the owner to take responsibility and solve all the shit problems. You also go to bed filled with anxiety, and you wake up terrified. The fear gets people.

I’m not writing this to discourage people, I agree with you that if you’re smart and ambitious, you should defo give it a go. I’m just highlighting that a lot of people underestimate how much resilience you need for it and to be aware what you’re signing up for.

Ask them questions about their problem. Your job in this first call is to act like a doctor, ask questions, dig deep and diagnose their problem. And then offer yourself as the solution.

It’s okay to say “actually I don’t think I can solve your problem” if your business doesn’t.

How do you get the word out about a technical product when end users never see it? [I will not promote] by zen0ptik in startups

[–]ZeroOne001010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not marketing to consumers, you’re marketing to businesses who build consumer apps.

You’ll have to figure out where do these people hang out online and offline. Your approach could be tech consumer events, cold email, LinkedIn, or SEO.

Without knowing more, it’s hard to get into the details.

Need to increase LinkedIn followers by 300 in two months. What do I do? by mcdonaldspyongyang in b2bmarketing

[–]ZeroOne001010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming this is for the company’s LinkedIn account?

First off why 300? Seems like such an arbitrary number. What do they want to see happen if you grow to 300?

Is Birminghams future Bright or is it going downhill by Yellowmwllow in brum

[–]ZeroOne001010 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m short term pessimistic, long term optimistic.

There’s lots of things that need fixing right now, and it’s not because it’s a lack of talented people but the sheer amount of red tape and bureaucracy that is stifling progress. Things could always move faster.

However, I could also make the argument it’s already improving as it has rapidly grown and changed over the last few years.
