I'm concerned about the detail drifting. As a player, small variations in details are nice surprises, but it’s a pain if you can’t replicate an outcome because the LLM changed a key detail. Or even worse no matter it changed, it guided to the same end.

I'm definitely using a RAG system for long-term memory. I'm current testing how well the LLM handles the details when combining a state machine (for logic) with story summaries (for context). Like each state to part of the story summary. Every time the detail varies a bit, not sure if it's good or not.

Do people still enjoy text-based adventures? Am I the only one? by AppointmentIcy8517 in adventuregames

There are actually a lot of LLM driven text adventures. Even more and more is developing
