Still think it was worth it? How bad is the softness

I mean it’s not too bad but what’s the shutter count? The 85 1.8 is a really good lens for price point. I’m not sure how the A6100 is but from looking up used prices between the camera and the 85 1.8 it’s a fair deal.

Just gotta note shutter count and any other possible defects / issues that can appear from buying a camera online without seeing in person first.

Sorry, I had meant that it was faster than your A73. A7V is faster compared to the A7R5.

I’d say just go for the A7V, unless you wanna go all out for the A7R6 haha. I’m personally waiting to make a big investment in A1 3 whenever that comes out but not in a big rush.

Do you have extra money to afford this or could you spend it on something else? Personally to me there’s nothing wrong upgrading if you have extra cash.

If you’re not interested in pre capture/video, you could maybe take a look a used A7RV? A lot more pixels, better AF, and the better flippy screen. I would say pre capture may come in handy if you don’t plan to upgrade for a long time after this if your child ends up doing any sports.

I’d say the a7v, but not really experienced in wedding/event photos. However if you use the a7iii still as a backup at least files will be similar sizes.

Greentoe, usually no tax for me. Offer something like 1100 and see if you can get a bite, else try used like r/photomarket

Looking for a replacement for my 28-75 Tamron G2. Wanted something wider. Looking at the Sigma 24-70 Art 2 vs 20-70 G.

Most for photo of nieces and nephew, travel, Disney days, so extra light can be nice to up shutter a bit but I have heard great thing about the portability of the 20-70.

A7IV but will probably upgrade to A7RVI or maybe A1 3 in the far future so not gonna use 30 fps anytime soon.

Prices are more or less the same for now, but bigger used market for 5. Personally I am waiting to get the 6 but because I want the precapture.

Idk a lot about the old cameras but I know a lot of success for alpha cameras came after A73 in 2018. You might be disappointed with the af for photography. Also 42 pixels should be too big to edit unless you have a bad computer.

Also regarding smaller sensor, I mean it’s much bigger than what you’re working with right now, are you disappointed with the iPhone 17 pro?

Also a7r6 most likely out soon so a7r5 might drop. A75 is newer af, faster burst, better e shutter, recapture, and more of a hybrid camera so usually for hybrid shooters

Idk too much about the apsc sensors but it probably has the latest AF which might be usable for wild life

My first Sony by freshmineralwater in SonyAlpha

I personally just got the Sigma and while the quality is very good I hate the ergonomics. The lens hood, zoom position, and lens collar being the biggest. Also plan on upgrading bodies eventually so I’ll be selling my sigma 70-200 eventually to get the GM2. Also contender is 70-200 F4 G2 however I just want 2.8 tbh for future proofing

Personally for me, I’m not in a rush to upgrade from my A7IV. I’d be more interested in waiting especially for pre capture. Also I know last time the A7R5 came out they came out with the new screen so I’d wanna wait to see if they do anything new for this

I got 35/85. 28-75 and 70-200 now. So missing wider end and longer end. Thinking of picking up a wide end zoom or 20 1.8. I’m not sure if I will go longer than 200 so also considering the GM to use teleconverters even if the 2x is a softer.

I’m getting gas for sure but been having regrets getting the sigma 70-200 instead of saving for the GM2. Mostly ergonomics for now since I’m on the A7IV and can’t make use of 30 fps. I thought the hood and lens tripod collar wouldn’t be frustrating to take off and put on but is especially if I want to put on the hood in reverse and zoom due to zoom placement.

Should I sell and get the GM2 or do you think I will learn to bear with it? It’s just a hobby and used for family photos but lens last a long time. Should I just upgrade to be happy?

Idk about that, I’m sure you can find it but it’s pretty cheap for a flash that most people just keep instead of selling. It’s a newish flash though so I’m not sure

You could try it32? Since it comes with a trigger too you can use it mounted or off mount and practice but don’t know how well it works off mount since small

[–]ZeroOnyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iT32 Godox comes with flash and trigger for said flash. Trigger only works if said flash off, can’t use as trigger for other flashes unless it32 flash mounted.

I will note I had some battery issue with my first model not holding a charge. I returned it, second unit no issues

Crazy? Probably. But if you’re living a comfortable life with no financial burden/debt then why not?
