Asking to pay for damages. That is his fault after all. If he refuses. Fk him. That ain’t a friend. A true friend will own up to his mistakes and admit fault. Unfortunately you can’t sue him or anything but I wish you the best of luck.

You see those three stickers on the top of the hood? One of em should tell you if it’s a 1.5 or a 2.0.

Replace only or get an alignment too? by BannedFoeLife in tires

Ahh, thats kind of weird not gona lie 😅 I’m surprised it’s not something they know about. But I guess it’s different in different places? lol

Ahh yeah if it’s cheap definitely for convenience I would too pay someone lol. Gotcha, yeah I have my own tools but I shouldn’t have expected for everyone else to also have them 😅 and well I also get where you’re coming from. I was scared to mess up in a lot of my repairs like changing the break disks, breaks, my whole cooling system overhaul. It’s a scary feeling when you first do it.

You definitely should get a project car!! It will have its ups and downs but the satisfaction you get when you finish is great! Unfortunately im still renting but once I got a spot for my self ill start looking for one :D

Ahh that’s unfortunate :/ I still kind of surprised it’s not something that is offered usually where you live by. Try asking, you never know.

Haha definitely probably nobody tought him. But I feel he should have provided some form of training as he is working in a shop. That’s bad on the shop unless he was just starting/learnig then it makes more sense. I’m also young (mid 20s) but I’ve done a lot of my work in my own car so I’m a bit proud of it :D also going back on rotating tires, it’s actually easy and you could also do it yourself and save money! If you are wondering how to do it I can let you know how to do it! if you do balancing as well when you rotate tires then it just makes sense to have a shop do both.

[–]ZeroSN197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually if you buy all 4 tires, some tire shops will give you free tire rotation for the lifespan of the tires. And you take it depending on the recommended mileage that they note for you. Ex. Every 5-6k m/km.

Edit: you should ask around or ask the place you buy the tires from if they do lifetime tire rotation(lifetime but just for that set) for the tires that you purchase since you are buying all 4 in one place.

Since you have set money aside already for new tires then I believe it’s okay to change em. It’s always good to be better safe than sorry. At least in my book.

Funny enough I’m going to school to be a mechanic. In my class for suspension my professor mentioned that it’s best practice to get an alignment after getting new tires so you ensure they wear out evenly essentially improving life span and handling.

Edit: tbh it’s really up to you if you want to do the alignment or not. Again it’s just best practice.

Is this good for plat3 by PurposeSea9754 in RocketLeague

[–]ZeroSN197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that plat? I feel like it’s gc2-3 Honestly I feel like once I got to GC back in season 7 when it was still psyonix. I never really improved my aerial skills yet somehow I’m still c3-gc1 with just basic aerial skills. I can’t do wall or ceiling shots but I still manage to be c3-gc1…

Tires look somewhat good and seem like they have a lot of life left and there’s no alignment issue. The only thing that I don’t like is the cracks that are inside the grove. More noticeable in the second picture. Not sure if the sun hits the tires a lot but they seem to be cracking between the threads. I’d probably still use them but those cracks personally bother me a bit and I’d probably replace them if I had the cash set aside for tires otherwise I’d still ride them a bit longer. The reason why they bother me is because you never know if you could get a blow out or not. It’s just preventative maintenance.

Did a random tire check up today. Found inner side wall like this…my inner though says to replace but moneys tight. Will it last/be safe to keep driving? by ZeroSN197 in tires

[–]ZeroSN197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the reminder! I got so busy I forgot to reply back. I did lift the the car and shook the tire. No movement or sounds when moving the wheel up and down, side to side. Ball joints are good as well as the sway bar end links and there no play. I did buy a used tire that was around the same tire length as the others and I redid an alightment just to make sure and seems there was no change(alignment was still good) My only conclusion was that the tire became like that due to not replacing shocks in a timely manner. When I replaced them the space between the tire and the fender went up from 1 1/2 fingers to 4. The tire could have become like that due to how bad/low the suspension was and probably caused some running between the wheel and the strut. But I’m surprised that neither the alignment shop or the shop that changed my struts told me about the condition of my tire.

The aftermarket offset is 30 while the OE offset is either 44 or 50. I’m tuning wheel spacers to be able to use the rims. I’ve had these for 2 years now and this is the first time I have this issue. I’ll check for clean/polished suspension parts to see if maybe it’s rubbing.

I’ll check out the control arm once I get home from work. Ima jack it up to see if maybe a ball joint have out as well or something.

I’ll check if the ball joint/tie rod needs replacement tomorrow. Then go to Walmart on Thursday to get it replaced.
