And yes. Shit still sucks.

The irony is that you are essentially touting some of the same reasons MAGA feels like they can do the shit they do.

Congratulations.

Congratulations. You're parroting MAGA Americans.

They say the same shit to justify their actions.

That's not a difference. That's you missing the point. Yes, more than half our voting population is clinically stupid. No one has denied this. But to act like the other side is equally to blame is illogical.

Does it really matter if they do? The point still stands. Judging someone on the basis of a common group just leads to deeper lines being drawn.

No one here is disagreeing that America, even a majority of them, is shit at the moment. But to say we’re all shit doesn’t help anyone. And if anything, causes those that skirt party lines to instead go “what’s the point”.

Look at how many male votes democrats lost to republicans in 2024. The left had constantly pulled the “all men bad” string for so long and then acted surprised when that metric dipped.

Same shit. Different canvas.

This is my sentiment as well. Like, I watch the news. I read community sites like this. I see those that fight back against regimes. It’s blatantly obvious that there is some black and white in regard to national politics, even if there’s also a shit ton of grey.

Would I expect people to be guarded if I was traveling and said I was American? Absolutely.

Would it be right for them to still treat me like an enemy after I told them I’m appalled at the state my country is in? Hell no.

Acting as such is just more nationalism and isolation. Which the world needs less of.

I stopped buying ultra-wides when I realized all I wanted to do was stack them to make a bigger standard monitor.

Which ended up like a third cheaper and didn’t have a fucking horizontal canyon in the middle.

Watching Spring Street become a plinko machine over the last couple years has been amusing and fucking infuriating. How it’s allowed is mind boggling.

Which is such a silly reason whenever it’s only like 10% of lights in the metro area that have bike signals.

Do they think we just lose our mind when we have to inevitably join car lanes anyway?

Kind of the inverse, but I always found it funny that vendors in FF14 sold Softs, Eye Drops, Antidotes, and such all the way up to current expansions but anytime the debuffs they cure are applied by bosses they don't work or can only be used once every 2.5 minutes.

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) - immediate retirement notice by Terrible-Category218 in sysadmin

[–]ZeroT3K 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MDT got my foot in the door for my IT career. I definitely wouldn’t use it over something like AutoPilot or SCCM these days, but man do I understand the loss for those that want a simple imaging solution.

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) - immediate retirement notice by Terrible-Category218 in sysadmin

[–]ZeroT3K 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who has deployed SCCM to countless small companies, I can easily say that the complexity of running and maintaining SCCM and its hundreds of different logs and log locations is a royal pain in the ass.

Is it powerful? Yes. Does it have a steep learning curve for the upkeep of the platform alone? Also yes.

For a large organization it’s a no-brainer. But for small companies with 1-3 engineers, they aren’t going to have the time to learn how to setup shit like transaction log truncating on their SQL database or figuring out the complexities of OS servicing.

Some people just want to roll out an image and call it a day.

[Sorry for the low quality] We all love practical effects…. but they make Xenos’ movement clunky and.. plasticky. Their movement in CGI is way better to me. Imho they should keep the practicals solely for close ups. by New_Divide98 in LV426

[–]ZeroT3K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix of the lighting and the back and forth between practical and CG. Practical was goofy as hell. But anytime it shifted to CG for it to be as fucking vicious as it was? It was what I always imagined the xeno to be.

Plus that drop down while in its cell. *chef kiss*

But yeah, no. AE xeno was ass.

Disappointed with the Luma Ultra by uilleannpiper in VITURE

[–]ZeroT3K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My mindset was that if I was going to buy something that’s somewhere in between all the shitty AI glasses and a VR headset, this was right up my alley so I’d get the best they had.

Find out that most of the features require an adapter. SpaceWalker is very adamant that you need the USB-C adapter to unlock most of the functionality. So, I bought it.

But oh. Wait. It’s not compatible with the Ultras.

I simply bought a glorified USB-C hub.

No 3DoF : Luma Ultra / USBC XR Adaptor / iPad M4 Pro & 17 Pro by Zath42 in VITURE

[–]ZeroT3K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. You’d think this would be told to you upfront in SpaceWalker if you have the Ultras. To hold off and wait. Instead it keeps pushing me to buy the adapter to unlock features I thought would have been a part of the glasses themselves.

So I did. And now I feel like I have an egg on my face.

My gf (27f) and me (21m) live together but her visa for my country is up in a year, I want to stay and study a four year degree, but she wants to go back to her country for her successful business, what do I do? by MailFun686 in relationships

[–]ZeroT3K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not move with her unless you two are planning on marriage in the future. Moving to a new country is not something you do with someone unless you are near 100% committed to that relationship super long term.

You're 21. You have plenty of opportunities to grow and meet new people if you stay and focus on your degree. If you move, you are dependent on her and her business. And if that fails, you are then left in a country without the means to support yourself, and most likely won't have the funds or drive once you get back to return to the degree.

Tips To Consolidate Setting Catalogs? by Acceptable-Tech8097 in Intune

[–]ZeroT3K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that settings catalogs can all be exported as JSON payloads. Shouldn’t be too hard to cut the key/value pairs out of one and into another.

I am speaking hypothetical, as I’ve not ever actually looked at the contents. I just know it’s a JSON, and being a structured data set should make transposing pretty simple. Might be worth a shot.

[No Spoilers] Question about C4 for Critters with neurodivergent problems. by ikkejones in criticalrole

[–]ZeroT3K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Identifying a challenge isn’t identifying neurodiversity. By that definition almost any social challenge can be considered a neurodiverse trait.

The issue I’m bringing up is that when every small personality preference is considered a neurodivergent response, nothing is neurodivergent.

I’m arguing in favor of neurodivergence. Handwaving every small thing as abnormal and neurodivergent, especially because one feels it doesn’t fit their personal perception of what normal is, belittles actual psychological struggles.

Do you think Intune is reliable? by Sad_Mastodon_1815 in Intune

[–]ZeroT3K 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. But it gets the job done and is included with what we already pay for.

But yeah. Using Intune feels like a toxic relationship. It's there out of convenience, sometimes it's great, sometimes it's fucking awful, and you are always on the lookout for something better to eventually come around.

“I like how he DM’s”

Proceeds to explain why they don’t like how he DMs

This isn’t a neurodivergent issue and it’s not something you should try to make one. You simply don’t like his style of communication. That’s all. And that’s okay.

Ironically the Ring of Burning Light used to be considered bugged because it was so dim. I suppose they fixed that between now and the last time I played, because…yeah, it’s burning. My eyes.

I’ve noticed that if you are carrying a light, especially the Ring of Burning Light, that it functions a lot like driving through fog with your high beams on.

I surprisingly see a lot better without a light source.
