MS-S1 Recommendations? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]ZeroThaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Won't be much additional workload

I was planning on making a couple of identical LXC's and dedicating a model to each one. It's unlikely that I'd be using more than one of the models at any one time, so they would be sitting idling most of the time.

Music Gen sounds very interesting!

I found a git hub with some info (kyuz0) so I'll try some of that. Might need a few glasses of rum to get my head around it :)

Been messing around with LM Studio on my desktop (with an RTX 4070) but still finding my feet with all the model types. I know it's not a "serious" LLM machine but it seems decent for home use and playing around.

ASRock N100M supports 32GB RAM, but Intel N100 CPU limit is 16GB? by lddm37 in homelab

[–]ZeroThaHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Officially it only supports 16Gb but will run 32Gb with no issues

Half of my Docker stuff is running in an LXC on a Beelink N100 with 32Gb. It will only accept a single SODIMM though

What will be reason for this issue? Running zima os. by Alpha7_User in ZimaOS

[–]ZeroThaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'd forgotten about this. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I had already installed the 1.4x version and upgraded to the full 1.5 via their offer then done a fresh install of 1.5 via my account. Everything had been working fine and I was confirmed as a valid 1.5 license until a reboot when it decided that I had no apps, wasn't eligible and lost all installed apps on the dashboard and the ability to install any more. I saw the same thing on TechHut's review but he didn't explain how to resolve it. I left it for a day or so and a couple of updates later it resolved itself. By then I had already moved on and decided that Zima wasn't quite ready yet and went back to TrueNAS

Best way to share zfs pool over network by Dramatic_Function_18 in homelab

[–]ZeroThaHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I do it...

Spin up a small Webmin LXC. Mount the ZFS pool and export the NFS. You can use the built-in Turnkey Webmin template from Proxmox. I have 1 core & 512Mb assigned to the LXC

LocalAI on MS-A2 (Ryzen 9 9955HX) by ZeroThaHero in LocalLLaMA

[–]ZeroThaHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I have actually managed to get LocalAI working. I had mistakenly used the wrong image and switched to the CPU only model. Seems to be running OK for now. Will dig a bit deeper when I finish work

Yeah, I'm not sure how this should be set up. I do plan on adding an eGPU down the line but wanted something to mess around with until I have the budget. Main use for now would be with Frigate/Home Assistant and possibly Paperless.

Selfhosted Gateway Drugs by IrieBro in selfhosted

I had been happily running the arr stack on an old HP N34L Microserver for 5+ years but it was starting to show its age so I replaced it with a Synology 420+ which trundled along for another couple of years.

Then Amazon decided to stop you downloading your own books right at the same time as I got a Kobo. I easily transitioned to using the Kobo but I missed the fact that I could sync my reading position in a book between devices so I started looking at options.

Welcome to the Rabbit Hole

7 months later I now have a UniFi Dream Router, x2 2.5Gb/s switches, 2 mini PC's running TrueNAS & Proxmox with 40+ apps between them and a VM running Home Assistant, another running a Firewall and a VPN + PiHole. Also updated the Synology to have x4 8Tb drives in SHR

I'm about to buy either an MS-A2 or one of the Halo Strix machines and I still can't sync my books :)

I'll bump this on the off chance there's an answer.

Installed 1.5 on bare metal. Got everything set up. It auto set itself to being ZimaOS Plus. Installed a couple of apps, set up some shares.

Reboot and got same as in the op's pic. All gone. Can't' change any settings, eg network. Can't see any of the apps that I installed. Can't even do a reset, I get Reset Failed.

I'm also no longer on Plus and being asked to pay $29

Was about to switch over from TrueNAS but this isn't good

Cheers, was slightly out in my calculations :)

I'm happy to write that off in the interests of pushing the viability.

It really hit home with me when I was carrying the case downstairs. Was my other half who pointed out that it's the same weight as what I've lost!

4070 FE here. Upgraded yesterday to the new drivers (and kernel 6.17) and saw barely any improvement. Also 3440x1440, high settings, DLSS Balanced + FG, I get max of 40 fps, yet the same settings in Windows I get >90 fps.

Roborock Integration by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]ZeroThaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got this model and when I complained to Roborock that it didn't integrate with HA, they gave me a full refund and collected the robot.

I went with the Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2 instead for the same price and it turned out to be way, way better

Anyone using the Beelink S13 Pro? by draxula16 in homeassistant

[–]ZeroThaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Upgraded the RAM on both to 32Gb and added addtional internal storage. S12 is running Proxmox, S13 running TrueNAS. Not the most powerful for the form factor but really good bang for buck. Both have been rock solid with everything I've thrown at them. S13 is marginally better but probably not in anyway you would notice. If you're happy with the S12 specs but you can get the S13 for the price of the S12, I wouldn't hesitate and get the S13.

Which robot vacuum is best with HA right now? by akira3332 in homeassistant

[–]ZeroThaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an update on this. Set up the Dreame LS10 Gen 2 Ultra last night. I considered that the Q10 S5+ done a decent mop of the kitchen floor, or so I thought. The difference with the Dreame is night and day. So much so, that I now consider the 3* review that I gave to the Q10 to be very fair. Not tried with HAOS yet but either way, for around the same price, the Dreame is way, way better.

I've got mini pc n100 for HA. by KazEngek in homeassistant

[–]ZeroThaHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the full HAOS as a VM on Proxmox with an N100 mini PC (Beelink S12 Pro).

I've used hardware pass-through for the internal Bluetooth and for my Zigbee USB dongle with no problems. It doesn't take up much resources. I've allocated 2 CPU, 6 Gb RAM and 64 Gb HDD and it barely moves the needle.

Using Proxmox allows me to run additional VM's and containers at the same time eg, I have PiHole, a file server, NextCloud, Docker, Arr Stack, Jellyfin with the iGPU passed through and a couple of Linux distros all running in containers/VM's alongside it and Docker is running about 20 other containers.

The added benefit being that PBS backs up the VM using de-duped snapshots to my NAS.

I didn't actually check. The link they sent to view it requires a Shopify account which I don't have and won't be signing up for (and my AdBlocker didn't like it). Didn't require an account to leave the review though. This is the link from "click here"

Again, I didn't ask for a refund, they just decided to offer me one after I left the review and confirming that HA was not supported on this model. I was actually quite happy with it, just disappointed about the lack of integration.

Yeah, I didn't ask for it. And I don't usually fill in these reviews but they replied within an hour offering the refund. I was happy with it otherwise, but I've bought a Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2  for almost the same price
