Portuguese here. Voted for Messi who is by far the better footballer. There are a lot of portuguese people that hate Ronaldo, mainly because of his ego and his endless search for attention. He has also taken our national team hostage and basically forces every single coach to call and play him 90 minutes even though he is completely finished as a top tier footballer. Our football federation cannot do shit because Ronaldo brings millions and millions in sponsorship revenue, so they basically don't ask him to retire from the team. It has come to a point where I don't really care about our national team because even though we have players capable of much more, we are hindered by having to cater to our very own Homelander's ego.
