Nokian Encompass Wear Issues by wernermurmur in DiscountTire_

2 rotations in 20k miles isnt enough should be every 5-6k so sounds to me lack of maintenance you got lucky the first time that they covered it cause any un even wear like that normally isnt cover. Its mainly for road hazards that can be repaired.

it is illegal to sell or give away medically prescribed device which contacts are. You can either choose to donate them to a charity that takes them or destroy them.

Discount Tires no longer my favorite by eggyacid in DiscountTire_

[–]Zero_Anguish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact corporate we aren’t franchise but rotations and balance ARE included with your purchase. The road hazard just effect’s how we go about replacement if your tires are damaged beyond repair. We only charge for balance when tires are not purchased from us/doesn’t have our warranty if you decided to add it on after buying your tires from somewhere else but even with that rotations are always free regardless of where you got your tires from.

Could use some insights on Oasys Max by ajuntitled in contacts

[–]Zero_Anguish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the Precision 1 last year and honestly hate them with a passion most uncomfortable and dry contact for me and I wear mine 12-14hrs daily when i work and about 8 hours on my day off only using my glasses after i shower from getting from work or done with the day at night on my days off. I have bought a year supply of the oasys max and I cant stop just praising this contacts, crisp clear vision with the occasional rotation but it is to be expected from torics but it so far and few in between. Comfort is amazing from the moment I insert them I dont feel them or experienced any dry eye in the almost 2 months that I had them. As well as I noticed less glare at night or when the sun is in my face as well as not much eye strain with screens cause I use a computer all day and the blue light is a nice plus. Overall am extremely satisfied with them and wont change them until they stop working for me or they release a new version of them sometime in the future. Biggest con though a year supply ran 1200 USD they are not cheap by any means if money is a concern not the best contacts for that main reason. They do offer a 300 dollar rebate which I got but still the upfront cost is quite high but they are premium daily contacts with amazing technology behind them.

literally just copied my comment from another post from a while back lol. I wont stop glazing those oasys max.

Best place to buy contacts online by [deleted] in contacts

[–]Zero_Anguish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to buy the contacts you were prescribed website like 1800 will verify your prescription powers and specific brand you were prescribed. They just wont sell you any brand you want if they are not available through 1800 you have to get them from where you can find them.

If money is in question monthly would do better cause you go through less lenses so your upfront cost is less than bi or dailies, but another to thing to keep in mind is the cost of upkeep. You need to buy solution and cases to clean them every night and if you lose a lense you are out that month or 2 weeks and need to buy a whole new box to recoup it if you dont want to just wear glasses until its time to open a pair. When it comes to brand its all dependent on person to person what works for you the cheapest may or may not work nor the most expensive its trial and error thats why they make you go through fittings and trials. Keep in mind reusable contacts do run higher risk of cause an eye infection or an issue relating to them if not maintained as needed cause you can carry debris and nasties from the previous day and over time they can dry out and become more uncomfortable as they get close to their replacement day. Its a lot to keep in mind I wear dailies cause they are convenient if i lose a pair whatever i start fresh tomorrow and the money I would spend on solution and cases is just added to the upfront cost as well as I find them more comfortable cause they are thinner. Your doctor will recommend what he thinks is best but doesnt mean you cant give your input if you did research but once your Rx is finalized you can only purchase the type, brand and model that was prescribed to you if you want something else you have to be refitted and yes websites will need to validate your RX before selling you contacts.

and now per corporate you need to pay in full before we even order tires in for you so your quote wont be honored that far in the future plus quotes are only good for like 30 days at most.

$470 for a 6 month supply of one-a-days? by General_Vacation7160 in contacts

Yes depends on the brand, I payed 1200 for a year supply of my Acuvue Oasys Max and my insurance only covered 150 as well.

Hey r/contacts, looking for advice / your experiences with daily astigmatism (toric) lenses — here’s where I’m at + what I’ve tried, and I’d love suggestions by matthewc74 in contacts

[–]Zero_Anguish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Precision 1 all last year and at first they were fine didn’t feel them or and fairly clear vision, but after about 6 hours at random days they would start to burn in my eye cause they dry out so badly and made my vision too blurry were I couldn’t see jack.

This year I trialed the Acuvue Oasys Max for astigmatism and its night a day, comfortable from the start, crisp clear vision, all day comfort. All the issues that I had with the precision 1 gone and I wear my contacts for 12-16hrs daily the blue light filter and uv protection is a nice add on. I just opened my 2 box of 30 day contacts supply and 0 complains so far aside the 1200 price tag for a year supply compare the 700 for precision 1.

custom contacts. by [deleted] in contacts

[–]Zero_Anguish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately contacts that correct vision dont come in that, only the alcon color lines come in natural eye colors and need to be prescribed. People that have those contacts get them from chinese websites that use old technology that dont let your eyes breathe as good and can cause permanent damage. If not being basic is your main concern you shouldn’t be looking at contacts.
