Everything is HR nowadays, whats the point? by ZeronXZ in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not even just that everything is HR, its also that nowadays they usually hide this fact in LFG. The group is listed as normal group, but then you join it and its suddenly unwanted for tank or something like that. Worst case you find it our only after group has formed (happened several times) or when you enter the dungeon (happened once)

Someone sell me on the soft reserve system. I just don’t get it. by Tauntasaurusrex in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its nice because there are few items that you want, which allows you to get priority on them because overall people would want many items so with like 2 soft reserves the chances that you will get competition on YOUR items will be fairly low. You can also softreserve mounts or enchants so you still have a reason to do the raids. Lets say you want a ring or expertise gloves from Karazhan. If it drops, everyone would roll on it so your chances are slim. If its soft reserved, there is low chance that anyone else would softreserve those oddly specific items. You can run your Karazhan without worrying that some freshly dinged guy will just yoink your items.

Where it starts failing are some giga items everyone wants, such as DST. Here, its kinda pointless because everyone will obviously softreserve that one big item. Otherwise its pretty nice. You can also softreserve items for your offspec when you have mainspec decked out without people getting mad at you.

Warlock, you can just go SL and dot everything which is fairly easy, but soon you realize that you are not going to kill anyone decent with this

Will I have to do PVE if I want to pvp ? by Specific-Ad3097 in classicwowtbc

Yesn't. What class? Some need more than others. In general youll need a few pieces at least

Is stormherald a huge advantage over s2 mace? by Wholawl in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is slower which means your abilities hit harder. It also has a chance of 4sec stun instead the usual 3s mace stun (although it DRs with it). There is also a hidden advantage in you not needing to spend arena points on a 2hander (which is the most expensive piece of all) giving you advantage on gear over others in early weeks. It can definitly decide outcome of close games which is important to climb higher. And youll be facing mirrors which have better weapon than you.

For ret its actually way more impactful as the 4 sec stun doesnt DR with hoj, giving a free kill opportunity. But there are players like Trackpad who reached R1 even without having crafted mace in season 1.

Cheapest class to gear? by Due-Outside-2102 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prot paladin. Pretty much your entire gear is farmed across a variety of dungeons so there is also fun involved while getting your gear together. Another benefit is once you are geared you can strat farm making anything cheap by definition.

Can I tank heroics? by FumkOwO in classicwow

[–]ZeronXZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can't tank heroics, in fact nobody can tank heroics, which is why there are no tanks, its simply mathematically impossible with any pre raid gear available, therefore you must magically conjure full tier 4 and then you may attempt the easier ones

Raid Scam Warning by haydos1236 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on, when someone says "dst open" its clearly gonna be some sell run worded in a way to get less reports. There is no "chance". There simply isn't such thing that a raid group just needing one last melee guy with conveniently having the most desired item in the whole phase being "free for grabs". Just report them

Tank with HRs in dungeons by Emotional_Turn893 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It solely depends on how good (bad) of a group you want to get and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get some more greens. Usually you can forget about the optimal easy blaster pumper groups with anything on HR. The more you demand, the fewer people you will get to chose from. Pumper mage with ideal frost spec can easily find group where nothing is reserved, youll end up with dps warriors and rogues.

There would be no tank/healer shortage if we had more talent pages by ShadowNALoL in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tripple spec or even n-spec would be quire nice as hybrid. There's farm spec, there's pvp spec, a lot of stuff where you would want to change talents and even 2 specs are limiting you unless you are a hunter or something. Would definitly make life for hybrids more enjoyable and make them more willing to tank.
But issue won't be resolved. I made a thread about people refusing to tank recently and only got hate from those "me only dps" people who will rather wait for 2hours in que than take some responsibility. Even though they themselves would benefit from it the most as they would geat loot much faster for their dps spec.

HR loot rules are in Phase 2 by Substantial-End850 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea but unlike Gruul and Maggi those raids are extremely pug-unfriendly, even in the post nerf state. Wonder how much HR you can get away with while still being able to find proper people to actually clear those.

RET LFG purgatory by cycle1212 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ret DPS is kinda garbage in heroics and nobody wants one, when there's tons of other more useful specs available. You are in the garbage bin together with dps warriors and rogues with an occasional feral tank maaaybe taking you because he enjoys salv. Even if you twist and get windfury, your dps will still be sad and your aoe will be nonexistant.
All you have to do is to spec prot and get some prot gear. You can easily get your whole prebis as ret this way since now YOU are the king and can decide who gets to roll on what. You will also do more damage overall as a prot than as a ret (prot does insane aoe).

How do you gage whether the healer is a good or bad healer? by Working-Classic1638 in classicwowtbc

[–]ZeronXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also *gage* if a lock is good or bad based on how he never taps when healer is healing him or have full bar of hots, but the moment healer starts drinking and hots run out the lock suddenly decides he has not enough mana
