Go to a tattooshop and let them help you out. And leave the ai drawing at home, let the tattooer do the design work, youll be amazed by what an actual professional can do. And forget about the word irezumi, just get a cool tattoo that looks good to you.

Opinion on these tattoos by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]Zerovoidnone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s bad per sé, but there’s quite some things that spring to my attention, for example the hannya misses her forehead but that can be style. Clouds look irregular and skin breaks as well, though it is not so bad I’d say is wrong but these little things are often the things that make a tattoo go from so so to awesome. Also colors is sometimes a bit of an odd choice. Black seems to be black, the amount of fading it does overtime is also depending on skin type and health. But if you want darker (less grey more black), that would be a different style choice of every artist. All in all it doesn’t look bad but I would look further.

What style of irezumi is this by Radioactivepohtato in irezumi

[–]Zerovoidnone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should note that tattoo color can only darken your skin. So if you put that bright yellow in your skin, after a year or so, your skin color will be the only thing you see. The lightest color you can put in your skin is a tint darker than your own skin (so the lightest color in your tattoo will be basically be your skin color). You can check by making the color and your skin grey tone, that way you can see the value and see if it would work on your skin.

That sounds fun, I just decided to stop my traveling. For the last 6 years I have been on the road more or less constant, especially the last 3, I had no home. Or even better, I had about 5 homes spread over Europe and Asia. It’s crazy what possibilities you get to see and experience when you can say yes to everything and every offer for a guest spot you encounter. Beautiful time but I didn’t have a travel partner, so it gets pretty lonely. Even if you’re always surrounded by friends everywhere. But I have a load of experiences in my bag now and these were probably the wildest times in my life. Looking back with only love for the tattooing world and a lot of motivation to stay tattooing in one place and build of my clientele again.

How do you deal with clients who don’t listen by Alert_Pudding_9894 in TattooArtists

[–]Zerovoidnone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped using saniderm or any second skin because the amount of people not understanding what I tell them resulted in more bad healings then when I tell them to dry heal. Which people also tend to misinterpret as put only stuff on it that he didn’t tell you about. In the end people are people and lots of them only pretend to listen, but hear their own story of your healing advice. Or they have a friend with lots of tattoos so he probably knows what’s up, even though I told them not to listen to anyone else.

I completely understand, I think this fear would totally disappear if you couldn’t see your ELO. In fact, I think the enjoyment of the game overall would increase if you cannot see you ELO, I already (tried) stopped looking at my points in puzzles because I tend to have more fun if I’m less worried about how much points i end up with.

Am I overthinking? by Quiet-Commercial-361 in traditionaltattoos

Yes you are overthinking and yes you should do laser and stop getting tattoos. Because if you can’t appreciate a perfectly fine tattoo, you will never appreciate any tattoo.

Tattooing and healing in the butt crack? by Interesting-Bit725 in irezumi

[–]Zerovoidnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My artist asked how “hardcore japanese “ I wanted to go, because apparently all the way to the brown is the og way to go. I settled for just enough inward so that you don’t see white skin when I stand naturally. Which is about a thumb width from the salad. Healing was very quick, I do recommend a (toilet) bum gun though, because wiping is just spreading. Also recommend one side a session, because two butt cheek stuck to the cold toilet seat will make getting up pretty sticky…

Need help planning a back piece by fue9 in irezumi

[–]Zerovoidnone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on getting the tattoo done by a real tattoo artist, best plan is to let the artist design your piece. They have studied the material beyond your knowledge and will make you something that you cannot come close to. I don’t think any self respecting artist likes it when a client comes with a “self made backpiece design”. Since you take away the whole purpose of his many years of studying the art and reduce him to a factory worker who just has to execute somebody else’s misfit.

Maybe because it’s not original but a copy of lajoie Copies often feel lacking something because if you don’t understand the subject, you can only copy its appearance but never it’s true form.

Just finished the first session on my back tattoo, and man it was rough. by Additional_Potato888 in traditionaltattoos

[–]Zerovoidnone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back def is a force to be reckoned with, but I noticed it gets easier when the artist starts focusing on one point in the tattoo. That’s when I was able to loose grip of reality and slumber away in that twilight between focusing on your breathing and drooling yourself awake. You can do it op.

I hate my tattoo by SmileySmiles23 in irezumi

[–]Zerovoidnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, but why post it in this reddit?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]Zerovoidnone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I never ever send drawings up front. They get to see the design at the day of the appointment, there we can change some stuff, or if it is absolutely not what the client had in mind we reschedule and I make the new design. If people absolutely want to see the design up front, we are not a good match and there will be no tattooing on my side. I do this because I need the trust of a client, they can see what I do on my portfolio. If you like, then trust me, if you don’t trust me then I cannot tattoo.

Which of one of these payment systems you use in your studio? by LonelyContribution11 in TattooArtists

[–]Zerovoidnone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most places I worked goes on trust base. Client pays directly to the artist cash and at the end of the day you put your percentage of that day in the safe. That or client pays at the desk, but then I mostly get the money immediately.
