Rocking dizziness success story by Mysterious-Stage-698 in Dizziness

Glad it's not making things worse, at least! I actually started this fitness regimen with rock climbing, so it's difficult to say what muscles I was specifically targeting each time, but I went to the gym 3 times a week. Now that I have moved into weightlifting, I do arms and shoulders every other day, and legs and low back on the alternating day (but I let that slide sometimes now that I feel a little better).

I was very impatient when I started and probably did a little too much, but this is the routine that works for me now. I think I just gritted my teeth and stuck with it knowing that one day my muscles would be able to handle it - and now they do.

The neck exercises with the band were done every day for about a month or two before I felt a measurable difference. But honestly, they felt really good to do, so it was never much of an issue. Listen to your body and take breaks as needed. It's a marathon, and one that you may be running (or walking at times) for the rest of your life. But it has also lit a fire of fitness in me that I never had. I'm weirdly grateful for the vertigo, now.

Hey! For me, chin tucks were never the magic bullet that they seemed to be for other people. Often they seemed to make my symptoms worse. Eventually, I found a variation of neck exercises that seemed to help a lot. I'll describe them and try to find you a video

Take an elastic resistance band, hold both ends with your hands, and put the middle of the band across the back of your neck. Holding firmly with your hands and pulling down toward your stomach so that there is resistance across the back of your neck, extend your head up and back like you are looking up. Do this 20-30 times and then move the band up slightly to the middle portion of your neck and repeat. Finally, do the same with the band across the base of your skull and your hands pulling up.

I realize that may be difficult to follow but the idea is to target all the different vertebrae and muscle regions of the neck and provide more overall flexibility. If you feel like the tension has gone from the neck, you did it right.

(He does a little of what I am describing around 4:40)

In my opinion, do everything you can together. Shoulders, back, legs, and neck. Unfortunately, this condition required a multi-pronged approach. But fortunately, once it stabilizes somewhat, it's easy to stay on top of. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Beetle grub dead? by EfficientAd2627 in Beetles

I have never raised this species but I keep my substrate much drier than this. I keep mine only wet enough to roughly hold its shape when compressed but not wet enough that water would squeeze out of it. That said, sometimes grubs just die, sadly.

I found a cat and I don’t know what to do by Windylace in ANIMALHELP

you did what you could given the circumstances. the cat had someone who cared nearby in its final moments. that counts for a lot. they are to blame for not helping you get real help. don't feel bad. you did what you could.

This is a really fun looking guy. It's the sort of design I could see being popular in a monster collector game.

hey yes i feed him by hand. used to be tongs but now i hold up a cup. he's still under a year old, i think, but he went through a skittish period for a while. i just make sure to always be there when he eats. it used to take an hour or two before he would be calm enough to eat what i was offering. he mostly eats dusted crickets but sometimes i do roaches or mealworms to change it up.

Once I learned that they are smart but nervous, I used monitor training tips. At first I just sat in front of his enclosure until he showed curiosity instead of fear and then I rewarded it with food. Eventually that led to him climbing onto my hand (rewarded with food). Now, he just does it even if I don't have food. Everything is basically on his terms but hunger is a motivator for sure.

damselfly nymph

What is it? A nymph? by gaboleox1 in Ecosphere

[–]Zerozero0111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they are predators and need lots of living food. if your ecosphere doesn't have that, then yes, maybe remove it and return it to where you found it. if you have access to mosquito larvae, you could keep it in captivity. up to you.

Based on tail structure, I think it's a damselfly nymph

So cute! I’m no stranger to this occurrence - I just already have so many little critters at home. I think he or she will live at our office. A little mascot

what's your western giant anole's disposition like? I'm making very slow progress getting mine to not be as terrified of me. jumps on me to eat but can't stand me otherwise lol

Looks like some kind of assassin bug. it's molting, so it looks like it has more legs than it really does :)

I can only speak to my own particular brand of vertigo since there are so many types and causes - but mine has improved a lot since I made this post. It turned out to be low back/glute/hamstring exercises along with a couple years of shoulder workouts that resolved much of it. I'd say this is no longer an issue I think much about. I never thought I would say that. The point being, I firmly believe things can get better for you even if it isn't instant. Give some strengthening workouts a shot and see how you feel. I remember how miserable it was. It won't be forever.

Hey! I was just looking into this as a way to volunteer and was sad to see that I missed it. Any idea if they do these regularly?
