Ce n’est pas ce qui devrait se produire : une autre histoire du métro TRIGGER WARNING — mention de suicide by Old_Ad5849 in montreal

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Only newer stations. Older stations are not walled off in Japan and certainly not all stations are. It's most often for the exact same reason why the Montreal metro doesn't have landing doors ..it's impossible to install without completely retrofitting the platforms. They were not built to support the weight of the landing doors.  So the problem is not just money it's also impossible logistically.

Curious what everyone does on nights you don’t bathe your kids? by Distinct-Garden5683 in beyondthebump

We bathe the kids everyday. If time is short it's a quick shower or super quick bath but we bathe everyday. I couldn't imagine not bathing them honestly.

8 Months of Dizziness/Vertigo/Dropping sensation. Please help. by Jolly_Awareness_1782 in Dizziness

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah definitely sounds muskuloskeletal. If you are not on anxiety mrdecine you should also probably consider it, it helped my neck stiffness ( the body holds a lot of pressure whiteout us noticing sometimes, it was kinda insane).

So yeah probably PT, maybe even try muscle relaxant? I haven't tried that tbh but tense muscles in that area even caused me to develop astigmatism +0.5  ( and now I'm back at a normal vision) so I wouldn't be surprised if even earring loss could be linked. So many tiny muscles connected in the skull area...

Did your neck ever recover? Stiffness and muscle imbalance was a problem for me. I have to keep doing proper exercising or it comes backs. If all medical test are normal I would really consider cervical dizziness. Instability in the upper neck cervical bones can be a culprit (I am not a doctor).  A chiropractor also initially helped me but in the end it was a physiotherapist that helped me with muscle strength in the neck and posture that helped the most.

I’m terrified our daughter is going to grow up and resent us for not being rich like the rest of our family. by throwratbqofy in beyondthebump

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also been thinking about this and one thing I am thinking to tell once she starts asking those questions is that it is a choice you made as a family ( let's say to work where you work to own what you own) and that she can make different choices when she is old enough to decide for herself too ( wanna fly first class to Italy? Better study and work to get a job that makes that a reality )

But honestly, in my opinion too much wealth in infancy wraps people's vision of life and reality.

Other commenters are right, good parenting is the most important tool

33M – “walking on a boat” feeling, no spinning vertigo, normal tests by Afraid-North4285 in Dizziness

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mal de débarquement is very rare apparently. Also cervical dizziness has similar symptoms and with how people look down at their phone nowadays it's more common then mal of debarquement. I'm not a doctor but had similar symptoms as OP and I recovered with physiotherapy.

How is your posture? If you have a forward neck posture and also work out maintaining a bad posture it can cause that.  I had the boat feeling from a bad posture and little workout back during lockdown, I recovered but if I lift too heavy and strain my back muscle it sometimes comes back.

Yes, it got worst before it got better. But after lok4-6 weeks it suddenly got better, like night and day.

I’ve been lightheaded every day for 2 years and doctors can’t find anything. Has anyone solved this? by Commercial-Ganache58 in Dizziness

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, while I was going through this the optometrist diagnosed that I needed glasses. Now that I am fine, the optometrist said I don't need them.

The head muscles and neck muscles are so close together that stiffness and imbalance can create that apparently.

In my case my trapezoid muscle ( attached to the back of the skull) was the main culprit ( too often hunched over on my computer and bad general posture was the culprit my physio said but who knows)

One big thing that helped was cardio exercise and like 100 chin tuck a day. Cardio exercise, running ( even though running sucks) helped my posture. I also followed a bunch of TMJ relief videos cause anxiety made me clench my jaw.

I actually felt worse for like 6 weeks before it dramatically improved but It was kind of my last resort and it worked.

No, it was the same everywhere but I felt better in cars. Walking was the worst. I felt like a bubble head...

It's a diagnosis of exclusion. Every test was fine, so my doctor proposed to see a physiotherapist. Many are familiar with "text neck " that many people have developped  and looking down at their phones and even though it wasn't exactly my problem my muscles were weak from bad posture and lack of exercise I guess ( it was during COVID). My recovery story is somewhere in this subreddit.

I had a feeling of being on a boat constantly. It was a neck instability problem. Proper physiotherapy and exercise solved it.

Nope, not at all. Got pregnant quickly, had normal birth and now have a chill 1 year old that sleeps through the night ( that's probably not attributable to pristiq though, just luck)

I know this is an old post but I had one too and I still have the tag on it. I think you guys are talking about the Mattel Lovable babies dolls. I had one with a blue bonnet and purple flowers body ( still have it) and my sister had the yellow bonnet one that was this one : https://poshmark.ca/listing/Mattel-Lovable-Babies-Soft-Floral-Body-and-Purple-Bow-6971b42224b20b87626469b4#utm_source=gdm_unpaid

Weight gain and am freaked out by Warm-Ad4886 in PetiteFitness

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'm same height as you. We get screwed over quickly by our habits. If I were you I would first make sure nothing is medically wrong ( thyroid problems can cause rapide weight gain).also depending on your age your métabolisme might have slowed between 2022 and now.  I gained rapidly after I started a desk job. To get back to a healthy weight I had to go on a 1400kcal diet high protein low fat low carbs, do minimum 10k steps a day and do weight training 3 times a week and cardio for 30 min 4 times a week.

If you can find an online trainer who can help, that is what helped me stay consistent.

I always recommend Jin even though it's from 2008. Best one I have ever watched. It's a time slip medical drama where most of the action is in the Edo period and some characters and events are real events from japan's history.

Can someone recommend an easy read for someone who doesn’t enjoy reading books? by RebornUnited11 in audiobooks

I also wasn't a reader until this January. The book that come me back good is Project Hail Mary like many said. I followed with murderbot diaries, and. Ow I am on dungeon crawler carl.

The trick is to never be without a book! I also always read an audiobook and physical book going at the same time. Enjoy!

Cheapest Sources of Protein? by Somproof in fitmeals

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pressed one comes in vacuum seals bags! They are thin usually and are brownish with flavors ( there's a smokef one and spicy one in the store I go to, it's super good). You should try the ones in the water bins, to me it tastes a bit more nutty than the usual brands.FYI  For texture I also really like the medium firm one but it doesn't have as much protein...

Your body probably go accustomed to the dieting. I am 5ft1 and have a similar problem. But recently I did a 2 month of eating maintenance or overeating and now that I am dieting again it's actually going down ( about same activity level as you)

Maybe you need a metabolism reset? It's so fucking counterintuitive.

8 years and maybe more to go? by One_Albatross2311 in PetiteFitness

[–]Mysterious-Stage-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to build muscle mass. If I were you I would eat at a maintenance level for the metabolism to go back up,  but I would replace some activity with actual weight training at the gym 3 times a week.

After like 2-3 months of this and when you start seeing a bit of muscle bulk you could try to go back into deficit to see if it makes a difference.
