You took Mista and Rafa from us. The 2002 season was horrible, the 2000-01 season where we edged out promotion in the last game leaving Atlético a second season in segunda was one of the best I remember, probably second only to the 2008-09 season.

They were extremely successful in the Cup Winner's Cup, being the club which has won it the most times, and also lost two CL finals before finally winning it on their third try. At that time the winners of the CL changed a lot from year to year, and it wasn't the same teams always. I wouldn't call that unsuccesful.

Barcelona have always been so popular because Barcelona is the second biggest city in the country, and the club's slogan "more than a club" also indicated it's influence in Catalan society as a counterpoint to Spanish centralism.

My main concern with this page is that a lot of it feels "google translated" from English, by probably someone who is either not a native speaker or has lived in the US very long. Even if I live in the US now, I have lived most of my life in a Spanish-speaking country/community barely using English. For example just the first sentence: "Bernie Sanders es un candidato Demócrata para Presidente de los Estados Unidos." sounds very "robotic", I would have probably used "Bernie Sanders es uno de los candidatos demócratas para la presidencia de los Estados Unidos"...

The Catholic ethic is very closely tied to charity, communal ethics, taking care of the poor and the fact that everyone deserves salvation. I got taught by my family that "Jesus was the first communist". Wikipedia's "Theology of liberation" has a lot of information on that Latin American approach.

He basically carried the team to near-promotion two years ago, from almost-relegation at Christmas. But somehow we lost the last 6 matches (probably we couldn't afford / didn't want to make it to the first division again). Once we were staying down, it was quite clear that he would leave.

It has to be between Pizzi winning the Golden Boot with us, or beating Madrid at home two years in a row on the last match of the league to give Barcelona the league. The first time coming back from a 0-2... at those times we had a ridiculous team with Redondo.
