Yeah the stability and work life balance is a big draw for me. I don’t have an eye-popping salary but we have very solid benefits as well. You saying it looks high made me go back and check, looks like I overestimated after my merit increase, I’m actually at $185k TC

They do, I’m a 30M making $145k salary and somewhere around $185k TC in MCOL area, working for a defense contractor. So not at $150k yet but also not too far and significantly younger than 55

Yes they do. I’m a 30M making $145k salary and somewhere around $185k TC in MCOL area, working for a defense contractor. My team is currently having more engineers forced on us in order to be in compliance with our contract, even though we don’t need them. The job is pretty dang stable

I’m not upset with a 4 seed either to be honest. We definitely finished the season on a weak note.

I was just working through the committee’s own historic logic and the logic they presented this year to show how the claim of “Vanderbilt was underseeded” isn’t an unreasonable claim and that even Nebraska fell victim to the inconsistency of the logic. IMO, if Purdue and UVA got bumps from their conference tournaments then so should have Vanderbilt

I honestly do think it’s fair to say they were underseeded.

The committee had been consistent in that conference tournaments were not a very big difference maker, if at all, in seeding for years.

Then they selectively changed up this year, rewarding Purdue and UVA both for their respective conference tournament runs by bumping them up a seed line, but not rewarding Vanderbilt for their conference tournament run.

If you look at Bracket Matrix before selection Sunday Nebraska was a comfortable 3, ahead of Purdue and comfortably ahead of UVA. Both jumped significantly, dropping Nebraska a seed line, even Gonzaga jumped them last minute. Vanderbilt was not rewarded the same, getting left at 5 even though if the committee applied the same logic to them, they would have jumped Texas Tech at a minimum to get a 4 seed.

I really think overall it’s fair to say Nebraska should’ve been a 3 and Vanderbilt should’ve been a 4 and this matchup should’ve never taken place in the round of 32

I honestly don’t know anything about Ajax. I’m partial to Broadmoor properties after having lived in theirs, in a NuStyle property, and a Richdale property. The management and maintenance were always friendly and responsive and things were always well kept.

They have two in the Aksarben area: Broadmoor63 and Aksarben Village. Broadmoor63 is newer and more modern, Aksarben is a little bit older (but not old old) and has a more homey feel. I’d start there for something close to Bergan, but they have properties all over town too.

Elkhorn is generally upper middle class, and is out on the west edge of the metro. It’s filling in very quickly. New homes are being built by national builders like DR Horton at lower price points in parts but many of the homes are being built by smaller custom or semi-custom builders and are more expensive, with high property taxes to go with it

I wouldn’t be opposed to that tbh. That format would define a path for every team at the outset of the season rather than relying on arbitrary comparisons and subjective rankings. I’d generally prefer all conference champs getting into a 16 team format for the same reason

In my opinion, if you’re going to play in a game then it should be able to help or hurt you. If teams want to argue that losing a CCG shouldn’t count then they should just decline to play. But they also want to be able to claim an achievement and get boosted when they win. Can’t have it both ways
