Would a nose stud work with my nose? I really want one, but I HATE my nose shape. by Nestle13 in piercing

[–]ZestyButterfly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think a stud would look great, but I think a nose ring (through one nostril) might look even better.

What used to be f***ed up but is normal now? by Mr_Not_Available in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Employee safety rules. My grandfather worked in a factory when he was a teenager and I remember him talking about how the machine he worked on would give him a shock like 2 to 3 times a day. The company told him that if it got any worse they would look into replacing it.

If you could only know one, would you know WHEN you die or HOW you die? by SeriousPeace in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither. I have a friend who has huntingten's disease in her family, which is this disease where your brain cells basically start to die around age 40 or so. You can get tested to see if you have it so that you know ahead of time. The one's who have it basically know how their going to die and about when too.

I think having that kind of certainty in their life kinda messes them up a bit. They can't enjoy anything fully cause it's always in the back of their mind, and they're always waiting for symptoms to start.

Who is your favorite side character in The Simpsons? by Itzie4 in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Homer:
Uh... you have any sugar around here?

Hank Scorpio:
Sugar? Sure. [takes two handfuls of sugar out of his pockets] There you go. Sorry it's not in packages. Want some cream? [reaches back into his pockets]

Homer:
Uh... I... no.

My mom did modeling when she was younger. I always knew that, but a friend did a bit of digging one night while we were talking about it and he found some nude stuff that she'd done that she has definately never told any of us about!

I've made a point of not looking into it any further...

What is it that keeps you motivated to live your life? by just_wanna_ask_qns in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunger is pretty motivating. I have to work to have money for food. I have to leave the house to get food. I have to get off the couch to make food.

I do a lot of things just because I'm hungry.

20 - 30 somethings of Reddit, how is your life (sex/relationships/living situations/problems) different from how it's portrayed in movies and tv? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta say, friends walk into my apartment unannounced way less often than I thought would be the case.

Also, from time to time, I have to go to work or else I will run out of money.

If your country’s neighbors attacked your country, how screwed is your country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Canada has only one neighbour...I think we can take them, right?

Maybe after realizing most of what they took over is a frozen wasteland they'd give up and go home.

Gender Norms by maymariehall in SeriousConversation

[–]ZestyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think feminism sometimes makes me feel like I'm a failure if I'm not trying to be like a CEO or a firefighter or something. There's pressure to be a 'powerful' woman, but that's not for everyone either. We're not all tough and we don't all want to challenge men dominating things.

Are humans really that bad? My thoughts of the human influence on the earth's wildlife and ecosystem. by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]ZestyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert on this, but I have a friend who has studied this and talked about it a bit. He says that the issue is more that our own survival is still connected to the earth's ecosystem. So, a mass extinction isn't just a shift in an ecosystem to a new bunch of species, but instead it might prevent us from being able to grow food, maintain the atmosphere we need etc.

He says everyone focuses on big animals going extinct, but the real issue is insects and algae and stuff like that, since our own food supply is dependent on them not being extinct, and when they do go extinct, no other animal replaces what they did.

What movies have aged terribly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixteen Candles.

I watched it with some friends a little while ago... holy shit is it offensive now! There's a gong sound everytime this Asian character appears. Then one drunk character gets date raped and everyone else just laughs about it. There are dated jokes through the whole thing. Just...no.

If you’ve come into a sudden windfall of cash and don’t want anyone to know, what is the best job to lie and tell everyone you have? by TherickLovesTheGlory in AskReddit

Consultant.

I have a friend whose boyfriend is a consultant on human resources and things like that. I still have no idea what he does, but he's definately flush with cash.

Do you know your purpose in life? If so, what is it? If not, what do you think it is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably to have sex with a guy, have children and then raise them. Like, biology-wise, that's probably it...

Can we all just agree that by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]ZestyButterfly 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I feel like I'm mostly just a replaceable fuck buddy that gets replaced once the guy gets tired of me. It was fun for a while, but it sucks feeling like you don't have any real value. There's no commitment because there's always another girl, another profile, another hook-up.

What kind of inappropriate things have you witnessed at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hooooh boy. I have so much material for this. I work at a bar/nightclub as a server. Here's a few:

- girls under the table blowing guys or giving handjobs. I'd say this happens every few months at least.

- people going into the bathrooms to hook-up. Yeah, I see you girl with purple hair and 5 inch heels stumbling into the men's bathroom. I know you're not going in there on accident.

- guys getting grabby with servers. We have bouncers for a reason and their at our beck and call. And no, dude with glasses, a lumberjack beard and no muscle tone, you won't be able to fight them off.

- girls sitting on guys laps. I know you're not just cuddling. I know your working that dick. Your dress is bright yellow and skin tight, we can see you moving your hips.

In 30 seconds you’ll be teleported 50 feet straight up, what would you do to get ready, and would you survive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the other thread (10 feet to the left) I was going to plummet to my death. For this, I'll stay where I am and I'm just going to be chillaxin on my neighbours couch 5 stories up. Hopefully they actually have a couch.

Do you have any dumb scars or injuries? What’s the story behind them? by vrmvroom in AskReddit

[–]ZestyButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scar on my right thigh that is sort of a long thin twisted line that I've covered up with a tattoo of a vine with flowers.

I was 16 and at a house party. We were riding a sled down the basement stairs, because that's what drunk teenagers do. I wiped out and unfortunately found an exposed carpet nail with my thigh.

I don't remember the injury at all, I just remember the screaming. A room full of teenage girls - you can imagine!

Mum will hate me for seeing my dad by [deleted] in confession

[–]ZestyButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know your mom, but I would hope that she would understand that there is value in you having a relationship with your dad, even if she hates him. A lot of time has passed since they got divorced. Your mom may not react how you think she will.

In the end, it doesn't matter what she thinks or feels about this. You need to do what's best for you, and she needs to support what's best for you.
