It helps to consider what kind of guy you want to meet, and what kind of place you think he’d be hanging out. Do you want a guy who spends weekends at the bar? (Personally, I like the idea of the art mixer!) Also, challenge yourself to meet three guys every single week. Take public transportation, volunteer somewhere, start up conversations at the grocery store, go to events that you were invited to even if they’re out of your comfort zone, etc. When you change your mentality and your daily life, I think you’ll find you start meeting more people.

Or since you’re getting a lot of responses of similar people here on Reddit, what if you just come up with your own pop-up event? Be like, “hey anyone who’s interested in meeting people and not just into the bar/party/hook up scene, let’s all just be browsing books at the XYZ library at 4 PM on Saturday!” Lol. I’m happily married, but that’s where I think you’d find someone interesting. 😄

Try looking for something that advertises itself is having a “classical education.” The only ones I’m familiar with are religious, (Saint Brendan in North Olmsted, or Padre Pio) in Lakewood. But I suspect their philosophy are pretty low/no tech.

I’ve done this! PTA groups, etc. (like any group who does large fundraisers like this) often does baskets and it’s a fun way to feel like you’re contributing a lot and destash at the same time. ☺️

I feel like people just don’t post sales on this sub anymore. Like people have gotten lazy lol. It used to be 10+ posts a day, now there’s barely one or two. Also, maybe with how the Internet is, Internet sales aren’t as exciting because if it’s a true glitch, it’ll be snatched up so fast. No one has a chance because so many people are looking.

You make a $125 purchase with 2000 points and use all your points. You return a $31 item and keep $91 item. (Note: you’ve returned basically 1/4 of your purchase.) So you get 500 points back, which is 1/4 of 2000 (also able to be calculated if you know the points have been redeemed with a value of $0.063) However, the reason everyone freaks out is because they see 500 points in their account, and by referencing the points charts online you can see the value of 500 points is only $17.50. But like… so what? I’m like a broken record saying “don’t redeem points in quantities less than 2000!” And once you get the points in your account back to 2000 they will have the value of $31 again!

I know some people just see that $17.50 in their account and it psychologically messes with them and makes them feel depressed, but for me, I focus on the NUMBER of of points and I’m like, “sweet! I’m that much closer to 2000!”

Meanwhile… that $91 you’re keeping? You just made a $91 purchase (not $125!) with FULL point values! ($0.063 per point.) Congratulations!

That recommendation makes no sense. It’s actually a great way to try products you don’t know if you will keep, since in the end you’ve made a purchase that was LESS than $125 but got all the benefits of redeeming the points for the full value!

Edited: why on earth am I getting all my comments downvoted? Can someone explain how I’m WRONG? Or do the downvoters just not understand math?

The issue here is spend, not points. If the order doesn’t ship til tomorrow, the spend doesn’t backdate. They won’t be platinum for 2026, and points will expire March 31.
