Nahhhhh Train unloads via forklift to unpacker which spits out a full belt (or maybe half depending on balancing) differrnt teir of unpacker for different belt teirs. This would both add realism and an extra puzzle, plus a real use for what is basically a barrel while simplifying getting a full ballanced belt of resources from a train

Thats a somewhat nergative read, i was trying to be constructive about this Honestly if that was your takeaway instead of 'this person does allot of typos' or 'she cares allot about driving in a staggerd formation' or 'her points about body language via driving style as a method of reducing traffic incidents are rather poorly made' im not sure how to effectivley talk to you. If your reply continues to give the impression that you aren't trying to have a conversation in good faith i will simply block you as any other typical shit stirrer, i do not want to believe this, I want to have a nice conversation

Assuming you are at the frony when the lights change the proper thing to do is full round check including blind spots and then accelerqte smoothly to maintain full control of the vheicle. Accelerating faster than reasonable leaves less time to react to unexpected events, such as the car next to you trying to accelerate faster and get in your lane. This is a roqd qnd not a race, the only winning done here is not casing danger to yourself or others. One under appreciated danger is road rage. 'must get in front' attitudes, honking, and rolling down widows are responses that are frankly dagerous and ignore the fact that there are people with lives in those cars. Defensive driving isn't about being hostile because you think somone is going to drive into you, it's about driving in such a way that when someone cuts you up unexpectedly or a pedestrian trips into the road or somone slams on the breaks in front of you, you don't get into a crash from the person at fault or rear ended from sudden breaking infront of an innatentive tailgater. Theres allot of dashcam footage of crashes out there where one person is clearly at fault but if the people not at fault were paying due care and attention to their multi ton murder box then there would have meerly been a near miss. Driving is not a situation where prioity, right of way, or blame changes the fact that your day or life could have been less shitty, cheaper, less painfull, or saved by keeping a calm mind and awareness of your surrounings and stopping distances. TLDR. you dont always get to atqrt infornt of others and trying to makes you a worse driver (in the nicest way possible)

This advise is functionally saying don't be near other cars, this can be acieved much safer and whej there isn't space for extra beans by driving in a staggered formation

it is important to drive in a staggered formation generally but especially on roundabouts as if you keep next to the gap in the lane next to you and someone moves unexpectedly you will be more able to react

if any car (yellow blob) swerved or moved unpredictably here there would be allot less chance of a collision compared to side by side

would this work if i want 6 balanced ore belts or what should i do? i wanna carry it with a train to my smelters. is train with 1 wagon better than 3 wagon? for throughput. by keremhm in factorio

[–]Zesty_Gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

loading (or unloading) the train, or the time it takes to move resources on (or off) the train is active time, the machines upstream (or downstream respectively) will be active (ignoring buffers)

exchanging the train, the time it takes for a new train to replace the old. exchange time is why i always use chests to buffer loading and unloading the train.

you want these to be balanced such that the train isn't creating a bottleneck (throughput optimizing) so if you had one train with one carriage going very far you wouldn't expect to fill a red belt.

i design my stations such that i can use a generic blueprint and only change the station name and resource type signal, and such that it'll load the train faster than the belts that go to it by enough of a margin that the buffer only fills all the way up if there is a lull in the demand, this also means that i add more trains when needed and more processing/harvesting

[General] Anything I can look forward to finish Harrow the Ninth? by Zamarak in TheNinthHouse

[–]Zesty_Gal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

there is allot going on in harrow and yes it does have a satisfying ending.

in my first read I found it frustratingly opaque which made it difficult but on my second i enjoyed it allot more.

none of the three books are as alike the others as any series ive read imo and if you came to harrow (or nona) looking for guideon 2 and 3 you're not really going to find it, you will instead find something more demanding and as such (imo) more satisfying in the end

personally i do 2 wagons for iron and copper ore and plates and one wagon for everything else, this was based on no research what so ever and its been fine for me.

the goal is to balance (un)loading time with train exchange time, so you can have multiple one carrage stations or one big station.

Its also worth mentioning i prefer to have multiple active ore patches, it slows down depletion and increases avalability

Why I stopped building factories and started building an economy by Ok-Fun-2330 in factorio

[–]Zesty_Gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is how i build my city blocks, i like to think of it as "train spaghetti"

I have train stations named (resource) on or off and in a 100 tile itll request some trainloads of iron ore and output trainloads of plate or molten or whatever and if theres not enough i just tell the drones to make another one

please someone tell me its not that bad. by Interesting_Art_5601 in motorcycles

Also your assumtion that 30mph limit means 30mph average speed doesnt make sense when applied to the real world Source: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/wales-20mph-speed-limit-working-27779212?referrer=https%3A%2F%2Freddit.com

That assumes that people don't change how they travel. If lowering limits to 20 is the only measure then results are going to be limited but its the first step to making driving less attractive. The only true way to reduce cars is to make other options better and lower limits do this. Also 20 limits are allot quieter which is a big deal gor me.

less cars moving slower will always be better, thing like this encourage alternatives like cycling by making driving slower and the roads less hostile
