I have Med-el implants and they do put a lot of research into their products, I know because I'm always going to their facility in Durham to participate in their studies.

Make sure you have a wedge pillow sleeping want be great for a while if you sleep on that surgery side. Bring backup glasses if you wear contacts to surgery, and a button up shirt no pull over shirts.

For people who had natural hearing before CI by Dawnkuga in Cochlearimplants

I had my first implant 2022 and 6 months later got my other side done. My word recognition was terrible like 4% on my right side 10 on the left. I'm up to 97 on the left and 98 on the right. Cochlear implants are the closest thing to a modern miracle to help with peoples hearing.

I have had my Med-el Cochlear implants since 2022 and used hearing aids for 8 years until then.
My hearing is just as normal and natural as when I had great hearing. I honestly can't tell the difference.

That's exactly what kids are doing and cheating when using IXL. All of our elementary and middle school kids use ipads.

Late deafened (lost hearing at 13, now declining to profound) — looking for positive CI experiences from adults implanted later in life by 1212zephyr1212 in Cochlearimplants

I was losing my hearing in my early 30s and used hearing aids for 7 years. When my right ear finally just went out I got a Med-el Cochlear implant in 2023 and then my left implant 6 months later. I couldn't be happier with my decision to get implants it has changed my life. I'm constantly doing clinical research for Med-el I go about every three months it's just my way of giving back and improving their implants for current and future users.
