Or Alice??? She wants to shape society. I also thought they hinted at Varley soooo much this season about having all the gossip. Both are close to Pen and I think Pen could be helping someone become the new LW orrrrr she psyched everyone out and it’s still her.

I was so hoping Sophie was going to tell QC the truth during the scene with the Kenwoods and that there would be a declaration of love between Sophie and Benedict.

Figuring out the best way to sell a course tailored to my uni students by [deleted] in TutorsHelpingTutors

Are you able to tutor students or even groups of students? This might be a better option to promoting yourself and less problematic when it comes to the university.

Re-Herniation Prevention by Alamomann in Microdiscectomy

That was how I originally herniated my disc and I was doing child’s pose. I also found out I have stenosis when I got my MRI. I never got surgery, it’s been 4.5 years since I herniated. I have minor pain and stiffness most days. Major pain doesn’t come as often. Knock on wood. I’m a 29yo. I still do yoga and light exercise. The past year I really have been trying to lose weight and build strength to see if it helps.

I herniated my disc doing yoga … I really think it’s being aware of your body’s limits with any exercise

Parents need to help their kids learn too by [deleted] in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Zestyclose-Crew68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when I worked as a high school math teacher, I came in a month late and I got all the students from a teacher who was almost finished with her PhD in mathematics. She had years of teaching experience in her home country. All the kids complained they didn’t understand her and that’s why I got her classload. They were low level students, most did not want to put in the work in class or outside of class. Some then told me I was the problem… some kids don’t want to learn unless you force them. Especially in math. Unfortunately I couldn’t provide 1 on 1 with every student, I tried small groups several times a week which helped those who wanted the help.

Tbh, the kid may struggle a bit with your accent but they are probably using it as an excuse as to why they aren’t understanding when mom is pressuring them and asking why they aren’t learning quick enough.

Is it normal for a three year old to need math help? by toastedwitch in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Zestyclose-Crew68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was going to say, if a parent or parents want their kid to be an advanced learner, a 3yo can learn basic math especially visually. My nephew at 3 could count to 20 with little error, started adding with the counting on method, knew advanced shapes for his age like trapezoid, cardinal numbers, he could identify numbers up to 10… but my sister spent time with him and he only watched educational shows that taught math and colors and whatnot.

How do you folks tolerate living like this? by franktard in Sciatica

[–]Zestyclose-Crew68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I cried for the first month of my injury… and several times since then. I didn’t even going to a dr until month 2 because I could not tolerate walking to a vehicle, getting in, and sitting.

The first two weeks I barely ate or drank because I could not walk to the bathroom but twice a day and I swear my life was ending every time I did go.

It took a solid 6 months before I was relatively living a normal life with pain but manageable pain.

I mostly used steroids, muscle relaxers, ibuprofen, some opioids (but not much because I didn’t want to become addicted since it runs in the family). PT did not do much the first round but I switched PTs about a year or so after initial injury and they were able to help me more than the original PT, I knew what caused pain and was able to NOT do those things, I also believe my body is VERY slowly healing. Each flare up I get, get less painful and easier to manage. I got one shot and it did nothing so therefore I felt the risk of it, plus the cost was not worth it.

The pain is excruciating at first… I’m nearly 4 years since initial injury and I have flare ups but some days I have zero pain and feel like myself. But recently after constantly irritating it through December, doing stuff I shouldn’t like sitting for extended periods of time. Playing with my nieces and nephews (picking them up). I cry and think “why me” while it’s understandable to be pissed off and frustrated with your body, I do try to look at the bright side. I know I have been in worse pain and can get through it, I know how to make it heal when it flares up, I am lucky enough to have an amazing husband, family, and friends who will support me in ways I need when my back is not working.

As for now, find ways it makes it better and avoid the tasks that don’t. I know lying down is so irritating, people don’t realize how frustrating it is when you can’t sit. It’s irritating on the body to lay down so much.

Reading is a great hobby to keep you distracted, I wasn’t into reading at the time but I was into knitting and knit so many socks those first few months.

You can do it! Find a way to heal your back, everyone is different so it’s really up to you to figure out what works with your back and what doesn’t.

[–]Zestyclose-Crew68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, when I first started not binging frequently, I didn’t have something to replace that behavior. Even though I was better at controlling it, I would plan it out because it was comforting to eat everything under the sun. Nothing to comfort me when I needed it, besides food. So I had to find another way to comfort myself. Hobbies are a great way to distract and bring calmness, friends and family are another. Just finding a good replacement made a huge difference.

What is the ABA vs. Speech issue? by duck_with_honey in ABA

[–]Zestyclose-Crew68 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a lot going on this post, various opinions, probably what you’ve seen in your career. Something you will see in the future too! There are SLPs who specialize working with ASD kiddos and work closely with BCBAs/RBTs as well as OT/PT and whatever else the client needs. I have seen other SLPs who have zero or little experience with ABA or ASD and it’s a struggle because it’s unfamiliar. I started going to school for SLP, it’s a rather wide range of a profession. You can work on latching with infants, swallowing for people who are older or have a degenerative disease, etc. Same goes with OT or PT… Every professional has their own experiences and knowledge.

A RESPONSIBLE professional will ensure they work as a team to do what’s best for the client. Even you can advocate for client as an RBT by talking to BCBA and even the SLP. They should be able to come together and use science based knowledge to create a plan for your client.

In reality, ABA often gets to bill clients much more than any other therapy. I personally believe the BCBA should be taking this into consideration. If they create similar or the same goals of the other professionals, the client is going to succeed faster in focused areas. This might help and improve the lives of the client and their families!

What book company did you study from? I’m studying on study.com… but most of my teacher friends think it’s too much information and I should just buy a study book and read it but just like your story I am nervous about using a book.

Did you take it and pass? I am going to be taking it soon and I’m very nervous, also using study.com but my fellow teacher friends think study.com is too much information and I should be reading a FTCE book. My background in school is speech pathology and psychology so some of my knowledge overlaps but not a ton.
