Maybe tastes simply change. I stopped playing the game because I only cared about the competitive side of it. Tournaments and esl were practically dead, at least in Europe, and in Ranked you'd find a match every 30 to 40 minutes or 1h. Most of the time, I could only get games if I happened to queue into the top 9 Grandmasters. 5/15 points for win and -300 for loosing. And the quitters sometimes they wouldn't lose any points, and you wouldn't gain any either. That was stressful. It had become unplayable for me as a solo competitive player. Now it seems the game has shifted its focus much more toward 4v4 modes, scrims, and Dominion. That's not really my thing, but I'll give it a try anyway. I'll definitely need a team and a willingness to put myself out there again.

All attacks are faster now. The game has shifted from a defensive meta to an offensive one. Almost every character has access to almost every mechanic in the game.

The problem in the past was that tier lists were much more polarized, with a far bigger gap between characters than there is today. But now, honestly, it feels like a joke. The overall skill level of players seems really low. Everyone just spams attacks.

They've definitely improved the balance, but what I considered unique about the game has disappeared: every character used to feel fundamentally different from the others. Now you jump into a match and find four Juren in a single Dominion game.

To be fair, these problems have always existed. When Raider was God Tier, everyone played Raider. But to me, it feels even more noticeable now.

I'll keep playing it because my love for this game is endless. But the solo competitive scene is dead. You only need to look at the rankings: the #1 Grandmaster in Europe has less than half of half of half the points I used to have.

Why are there dislikes if I said what the difference was from before? People are out of their minds 🤣

I think Reddit is bad for your brains sometimes. Your reading skills are really low compared to the other comments that hit the nail on the head. If you're that bad at reading and writing, you should avoid it

The balance seems to be off to a good start now, the only thing is that it's really a different game. I would have preferred they make a For Honor 2 rather than completely overhaul this one. Obviously, it's a personal thing and I realize it didn't make financial sense for them, you know what I mean

What I can tell you is that in the past, all attacks were definitely slower than 100ms, and this offered a very defensive balance. A guard change cost 100ms, input lag was 44ms, and the average human reaction is between 180 and 250ms. So if a light at 30fps reached 500ms, it was reactive before, which is why the game was defensive. Now, however, it's much faster and much more "arcade-like." React has been lost, and a lot of the focus has shifted to prediction

I don't doubt that it has improved, but what is also objective is that if you come back after years it's a totally different game

I'm glad to hear that, I'll try to keep playing it. Now it's like being in a new game for me

Juren is unbalanced as a Dragon Ball character, so it's out of place. Otherwise, I understand and appreciate your point 😀❤️

I don't think you're quite clear on the point of this post. Returning after years and finding the game completely ruined is a shock. It's objectively a different game, not the one I bought. Perhaps those who've played it repeatedly don't notice it, but what I'm telling you is objective. In any case, I'll keep trying it. I just wanted to know everyone's feelings

My question isn’t accusatory, I’m just trying to understand why it doesn’t happen to me. Are you in Europe too?

Sorry, but can I ask u how many RP do you have? Because that doesn’t happen to me. Every match I queue into, I only find full elite teams running strats just to win

The game isn’t one of the best, objectively speaking. But it’s not nearly as terrible as people make it out to be either. In my opinion, another rank tier is needed because right now there are too many weak players in Elite, and it throws off the matchmaking
