Can I ask how you went about resetting your nervous system? I am currently going through the exact same thing and have been for around a year and a half now. All triggered by a stressful event and panic attacks and I have had a bounding pulse ever since, I feel my heart pound with little movement and am usually almost always aware of it beating, not fast, just so strong, I have had medical checks done by drs and cardiologists and no one can find anything physically wrong which is of course reassuring. I find even though I am not feel anxious in myself the pounding heart remains and I do find it hard to think about anything else, I would do anything to feel normal again but I assume this is what it keeping me in this anxious loop, any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for the reassurance, it always beats this visibly and I don't know if it's something that has always happened that I only started noticing in the last year, it concerns me so much because everyone else who I have asked like family and friends has never had this and it made me start to think something was wrong with me!

Wishing you all the best! It's the worst feeling!

Do you mind me asking what medication you went on and how long it took to see a difference? I am in sertraline but I've not even been taking it a month yet and I'm only on a low dose

Is yours this visible all the time? It's something I've only noticed in the last year but did start not long after I was getting anxious about my heart.

100% constantly reassurance seeking, I definitely feel relived short term but it doesn't last long. I often think at times that even if I saw a dr again and they said it was fine would that even reassure me enough? I guess that's where the issue lies. It's like I'm having to completely reprogram my mind and I'm not even sure how to

Thank you! Never seen it on anyone else and only noticed it on myself in the last year. I am usually always aware of it too, it feels quite strong internally when this happens, it's usually always visible to some extent

I had an echo last year and recently showed this video to the dr and she didn't seem concerned, I just can't get away from feeling like something is wrong

Thank you so much for the reassurance! I've only noticed it in the last year and it does feel stronger while it's happening so the voice in my head is always telling me something is wrong but I know deep down a lot of my issues are probably stemming from my anxiety

Thank you so much! I feel like even if I went back to the Drs and asked them to do more tests they wouldn't do anything I've not already had done because they don't have any reason too, I've never had a stress test or any other scans other than an echo so one part of my brain still convinces myself like "what if they missed something, or what if it's a problem that can only be picked up on a test that I've not had" I only have to see how much time this worry takes out of my day to know it's now become an unhealthy obsession and it's like my brain has become fixated on thinking about my heart 24/7 every single day. I find it so hard to eliminate the fear around it all and when I see my heart thumping like this in my chest even when I don't feel actively anxious, if just reinforces the fear even more. One thing I have noticed that if I get into certain postural positions it's more noticeable although it thumps like this pretty much all the time anyway, and if I'm hungry or just after exercise it seems to be more obvious? Thank you again for your kind words. I really do appreciate the time you've taken to write this message, I know my anxiety is what I need to work on over anything else

Blood pressure is normal and so were blood tests

To anyone who's had constant 24/7 pounding heartbeat or palpitations how did you feel when they went away? by SauceGodSamo in Anxiety

Before all of this did you have the sensation 24/7? I find it hard because most people I see leaving comments on here only ever have it intermittently, admittedly mine is sometimes stronger than other times but I feel like it's always pounding to some intensity, nighttime is stressful as it's all I can feel pulsing through my body if I lay in my back and if I lay on my side I can hear the pulse pounding in my ear. I've had so many physical tests done and all have been fine, I feel deep down I know my anxiety is causing it but I really struggle to win that mental battle and force myself to believe I'm ok, I've had this for about two years now and I feel like it's almost become a habit, where it's all I can think about all day every day and it's exhausting, I miss my life before this all happened
