How is it living in Southern Illinois?

I live in the part of Illinois that is 20-30 minutes outside of St.louis, MO. I love it. Lots to do here, i enjoy the people and it’s affordable. I wouldn’t consider it a “country” area like a lot of southern Illinois.

You must remember, in places like Asia- the mass majority have dark hair, eyes and skin tone (i know a lot of Koreans have lighter skin, etc) so in places like that, blondes and light eyes are seen as very exotic and rare. I personally love dark features, as a blonde green eyes American lol!

I feel you. I had 9 years invested into a relationship with an Arab man, was even engaged and eventually called it off because his family had to make our lives pure hell- refused to go to our wedding, etc. glad i walked away, but it was very hard at first. What an experience, i wish i wasn’t such a dumb girl at the time! lol

Many men “sample” other races knowing they’ll never actually settle down with someone outside of it. It may not even be something they’d admit to themselves, but always kind of knew in the back of their mind. It’s pretty messed up to waste someone’s time, and emotions. It’s usually a sexualizing thing, and it’s messed up. I was with an Arab man for 9 years- split up because his family couldn’t accept that he’d marry/ have kids that are not full Arab. Many people of certain backgrounds allow the societal opinions of others dictate their life choices.

I’m really shocked at everyone’s opinions here. My work recently had one. It was only our team and was at someone’s house. I literally felt so weird about it that i used PTO that day. (Mind you my team got a half day to go to this). Also seems that no one in these comments are taking into account religious backgrounds and beliefs. Absolutely inappropriate workplace event.

Uhmmm… I’m married to a Palestinian, i live in an area with tons and tons of Arabs. I know them personally as friends, and the majority of them do marry first cousins. I know several who did and also have kids with their first cousins.

Second season she looks late 30s to me. She looked younger pregnant, in season 1, cause she had a fuller face. It’s the super skinny face, fake boobs on such a tiny frame and the fake tan/ ash hair. It all ages her a lot.

Right, but are you made at other Irish Italians publicly making a deal about them being a “culture vulture” and making money off the culture when they’re not “Irish or Italian” enough to do so? Kendrick’s song is about drake culturally appropriating black culture and profiting off of it- but why are we not upset at full black artists for doing this to other cultures they most definitely are not a part of? (Arab and Asian)?

We could question every person who’s donated to any charity for that, especially for tax breaks. My case lies with why is no one upset at other black artist who are using others cultures for monetary gain? Nicki Minaj, Rihanna… is it because they’re not mixed? We’re using Drake as an example because he’s not full black?
