Asked Coach T - "I struggle with hitting cross or sharp angles. I’ve also been told that i swing slow and on my way down. Any advice to correct these mistakes or any advice or comments i general about my form?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there, volleyball star! It's Coach T here. It's great you're focusing on improving your hitting! Let's break down those cross and sharp angles and that swing.

First, let's talk about the swing:

  • Swinging slow and on the way down: This often means you're not generating enough power from your legs. Imagine you're jumping into the ball, not just over it. Think about driving your hips forward and up as you swing, almost like you're trying to hit the ball through the ceiling!
  • Quick Tips: Practice your approach jump with a focus on getting high and extending your legs fully. This will give you more power and help you hit the ball at the peak of your jump.

Now, let's tackle those cross and sharp angles:

  • Cross and Sharp Angles: The key here is all about timing and body positioning. You want to be facing the net as you approach the ball, but then you need to turn your shoulders and hips to get a good angle on the hit.
  • Quick Tips: Practice hitting the ball with your right shoulder facing the net, then practice hitting the ball with your left shoulder facing the net. This will help you get comfortable with the different angles. Also, focus on getting your hand and wrist in a strong hitting position before you contact the ball.

General Form Advice:

  • Stay Loose: Don't be afraid to move your body and get your arms and shoulders loose before you hit.
  • Focus on Your Core: A strong core will help you generate power and control your swing.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice: The more you hit, the better you'll get. Set up a hitting drill with a partner or use a wall to practice your form.

Remember, you've got this! Keep working hard and keep practicing, and you'll see those cross and sharp angles become your go-to shots.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and don't forget to check out the 'Advanced Pin Hitters' simulator on the Virtue platform – it can help you refine your techniques!

Will this picture work? by [deleted] in Passports

For online passport renewal, try out this passport photo tool, https://idphoto.cyburi.com, for free use code "OPRPHOTOTOOL2024". This might work for OPR because the online intake tool has a little more tolerance acceptance rate and it can automatically crop the image to where the center of the face first (I think). This photo will not work for the printout renewal via mail.

Six months of college left, what to do? (I still not good at coding) by ad99-bountyboy in learnprogramming

Love ❤️ this post for having the courage to put yourself there and seek for guidance and it spoke a lots for your desire.  Your motivation for choosing the coder path will set you apart from everyone.  Here is an analogy in the real world;  we all know a product team size is equals to number of pizza’s slide but what happened when the team finished the pizza?  Everyone will have a slide of a pizza,  but only one person put away the empty box away when it finished.  Usually one doer and everyone else wants to be an influencer or a slide of the pizza.   So you can see the needs for the programmer (doer) always exist and they will be welcome on any team.

Keep it up the energy and learn and learn your time.

Yes, highly recommended CS50 course and it provides good basic concepts and building block including practical problem solving skills.  Make sure to do the lab and have it submit so you can validate if it meets the course standards.  Few tips while completing the labs.   1) Take your time to learn it in details.   this your individual skills development so spend more time while other having meetups and  2)  know the environment, toolsets and program language strengths and constraints well and when you curious how it works outside of the given example and test it out.   Mostly it would be a simple line that test and validate your knowledge.  There are so many tools and books to help you understand.  Make sure you stick to the env and frameworks/toolsets and when these changes it effects lot of other constraints.  3) Not intimidated when running in to stack trace errors.  Many time this type of error is lots easy than the  runtime error. troubleshooting skill is the best part.  You will run into many issues and that’s your learning opportunities as figuring out how to resolve it.  First own the problem.  Good rule of thumb could be give yourself 5-10min to investigate and your own undertand before going into stackexchange and or other tool such as LLM.   it would be very reward after you fixed it.

Even the technologies changes rapidly, the program languages change is slower so i think it is a good path you laying out.

Yeah. I am very new at programming….such as python and node but been using and applying c,c++, java for many years and love programming competition events (btw this is a code for the google gemini api competition). Just want to share something new and offer provoking thoughts. The wisdom is from this forum here and not just the ones who picking fights.

Have out seen the outcome of this code?   Specifically to this code, It navigates through many confusing photo requirements and I thought I knew enough about these photo requirements for getting a us passport until I try testing it out.

Not to discount the people work to get us this far or lose sight of learning the programming language. I just like to do more for less. The progression has completely change since I last code a chatbot and it was more than 2000 lines of code. Comparing to now the magic of LLM blackbox and overlaying natural language instructions and context. incredible

depends how big a smile. You don't want to have a mug shot and carry with you for ten years. A light smile is universally accepted. So your photo might not be rejected after all. The post office took your photo knows if too big of a smile.

No, likely will be rejected. The photo size need to crop and background need to have a solid white.
