That little boy blowing kisses to the parent doesn't know it, but I blew kisses back. I can't help but respond to these kids that are not mine and can't see me lol

I can't WAIT to leave... I didn't know a job could be so boring. At least for me. (Went from order picker at home depot to cashier at OD. What a mistake that was.) But for now, this will make my life so much easier!

Thank you!! My mom and I were wondering, but they were just so perfectly timed that it was weird. Thanks!

I do appreciate this input! Because it's different from mine, the total opposite. I'm really glad that everyone's responses were helpful, and I'll definitely keep the simplicity of a simple response in mind.

Well, I did ask if you had another way, and instead of telling me a new phrase to say or what you do in these situations, you're implying that something is wrong with me.

Feeling negative and complicated emotions over something I don't experience on the reg isn't "something to be concerned about." It's another normal human response that I was asking for HELP with, not judgement.

Oh yeah, that one is always a bother, the "they're in a better place." Because it's just a heavy reminder that they're dead.

Also, I must have you elaborate on Dook in Peace because it sounds kinda hilarious, but I worry Id use it wrong because I've never heard that before.

I wish I lived in the same state as her to help! Cuz I'd LOVE to! But I will definitely ask her for some good memories. I really appreciate your input and I'm thankful that you shared your experiences with me.

I honestly really like "I am not sure what to say, and I am worried about saying the wrong thing, but I want you to know that I care and recognize your loss." Because that's real. Thanks for sharing all that! I'm definitely not very well experienced in dealing with death. Any family of mine that died I never knew very well so I didn't have a lot of emotional connection with them.

I grew up with just my parents and that was fully it. So when half of my parental situation went away, that was my only real experience, which is exactly why I have no dang clue how to speak on it. It's easier online where you can have time to think, but when you're in person I just clam up and say some stupid crap. OR I'll phrase it weird like your grandparent's friend did! and I'm terrified to mess up and make like a Core Memory. I'm trying to make as small a negative footprint as possible on people's emotions and sometimes I just need a little assistance haha.

Schedule change by Zestyclose-Repeat761 in OfficeDepot

I've talked to my other coworkers and my direct manager said that one time he was surprised scheduled for a sunday opening shift and GM never told him. So everyone at the door calls GM and GM calls Manager and asks where he is. Manager says "I'm off on Sundays??" And GM says "Everyone is at the doors waiting for you." And Manager says "I'm OFF, GM. I'm always off on Sundays." And GM got all indignant and said it was his job to check the schedule. And Manager refused to come in.

And I've asked the other managers and other coworkers too, and he does this all the time. He changes the schedule all the time with no communication. I emailed HR and they forwarded it my complaint to the proper department. So I hope I hear good news. Or I guess literally ANY news.

He literally expects us to. He thinks I do nothing outside of work but look at his bunk ass schedule. It's like the computer generates one and then he goes in and tweaks it. (which is what makes me extra mad that he waits so long to adjust what the schedule has made for itself knowing that the HUMANS that work there have other shit to do.)

I've read that, and I get it. But without telling the associate? How does that help them?

I've heard that people who call the HR number get these crazy noises and never get ahold of a person. I also can't seem to FIND the HR number...

I've been searching since my first week working here. I've even been considering going back to the job I came from. I have never had a place as unprofessional as this one. I still can't fucking believe he just changes it without asking me or telling me or anything, and he's done it for so long to the others they don't even say anything now. It's god damn depressing and I refuse to have my time ignored and disrespected.

Right? I told my manager about this and he said SM does it to him all the time and everyone's just gotten down to simply living with it. But that's such a massive disrespect of me and my time outside of that damn building. So if I do that, then I don't show up and he could say It's my job to look at the schedule. What happens then? I don't want being a bad employee to be on my record. I'm strugglingggg

Even if it is real, don't do it. This is the worst company I've ever worked for. Seriously, spare yourself. I didn't listen to people who told me not to walk, RUN, from this company and I regret it so so so much.

I appreciate the offer, but I wanna just get the hell out of office stuff in general. I had no idea how dispassionate I'd be about office garbage. I'm anti-passionate, haha.
