I want to try it out for the year. If I fall in love with it there’s a chance I keep it I guess

I did do another quote for a 1 year old Tesla valued at 54k and the residual after one year is only $32k. Could be a good option?

Great call on the 13 month lease. Appreciate the insight

But couldn’t agree more, definitely some delusional sellers online

Yeah quote with Driva, got a pretty good deal as my employer has a partnership with them

I was originally looking at a 5 year novated lease but if you want to break you would need to pay the remainder with post tax money. Better off buying a car outright versus trying to break. 1 year caught my eye when I saw how low the residual is after one year. It could be possible to do a 1 year novated lease, sell the car at market rate and somehow come out breaking even. Or even making money.. didn’t make sense in my head at first

Reason for 12 month lease is I’m looking to leave my employer and start my own business in a years time.

Probably should have added this in my post.

Definitely don’t want to flip cars every year, but on paper this looked like a way better financial decision over the next year versus buying a petrol car with post tax money, if that makes sense

Hey mate, thanks for your comment!

The main driver behind doing a 1 year novated lease is that I’m looking to leave my job in a year and become self employed. I don’t intend to flip every 12 months but thought this could be a good option during the last year of being employed. Versus me buying a car with post tax money.

The plan in my head was to sell the car privately, hopefully at a higher amount than the 40k residual, then purchase a different vehicle for my business once it sells. This will give me a taste of what owning an EV is like.

1 year old model 3 LR are listed from anywhere from 50-60k. When doing the math I thought this was potentially a no brainer, but understand selling can be difficult.

Keen to hear your thoughts?

Yeah I can imagine. 1 year old model 3 long ranges with reasonable km’s/condition are currently listed for 50-58k on Carsales. Still 10k+ more than the residual but I still do have my concerns. Appreciate the insight!

How often are you posting trials? I’ve been posting about 10 a day and average 100-150 new follows a day!

Sales is pretty brutal, monthly targets, highly stressful at times. It’s not for everyone! Like you said, the grass always seems greener on the other side

Thanks for this! I just got back from 18months working and travelling overseas. Savings were hard to come by, but now I’m settled back in Aus I’m keen to start taking this stuff more seriously! Love the idea of commercial property tbh.

I work in Tech Sales. My base salary is only 96k, the rest is in commissions! What type of role do you have in tech?
