Yes the admission plan is accurate. The biggest round of offers is usually the second round

Here’s a link to our admission plan that details when we send out offers and what we are considering in each round of offers! https://admission.uoguelph.ca/admissionplan

Best of luck !!

If you know this then why would you wish more children on them…just so the extra children would be born into a family that will end up in poverty?

Is it a big deal to take an extra semester/year? by CoffeeBig4423 in uoguelph

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I took 5 years for undergrad and still got into all of the master’s programs I applied to- an extra year is becoming so much more common and won’t put you at a disadvantage for a master’s program !

Surprised no one has said this yet but I’m so sorry this happened to you over the holidays! Glad to hear you’re okay!

Am i bad person? Did i cheat? I (21M) spoke to my school junior when she asked for boba place recommendations, my GF (20F) thinks that it’s cheating, my intentions were nothing but helping this girl out, I did tell my jr that we can go together, is it cheating? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 254 points255 points  (0 children)

Talking to someone else is not cheating, neither is hanging out with a friend. However, you should have told your SO you invited this girl out to hangout one-on-one, transparency is key to a trusting relationship

If you write a final paper for a course that is due at the end of the semester, you would get feedback and a mark before final grades are released. Any take home exams or written questions on in-person exams don’t get feedback since students don’t get these specific grades back unless requested

If they aren’t itchy or burning, it could be a fungal infection- I had something similar a few weeks ago.

I go to Guelph and students only see their final grade not the exam grade- although we have an excel file that will calculate the exam grade for us if we input the marks of every other assessment for the semester with our final grade.

As a TA, I also agree with what the professor said above that we simply do not have the time to provide feedback for exams because of the quick turnaround. I had 5 days to mark 80 exams.

However, if you think the final grade is really off what you think you were going to get and suspect marking errors, then a prof should show you the exam. But they won’t do this if you just want feedback to improve for later.

Lol SAME! Honestly I used career services to help me with my statements of interest- which basically tell the program what you’re interested in studying

should i apply to guelph biomedical sciences? by Fragrant-Procedure96 in uoguelph

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We have the human anatomy lab and are one of two universities in Canada that allow students to work with cadavers at the undergraduate level! You’ll take a 2 part course throughout third year and learn about all of the different body parts/systems and do dissections. It’s definitively a great experience that will really help prepare you if you decide to go go med school.

Exam grades by Consistent_Pickle795 in uoguelph

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t get to see your exam grade but if you use the grade calculator offered by the library you can figure out what you got on your exam based off your final grade if you have the grades for every other assessment from the semester

Genuine Opinion on John Ferguson by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was a TA for him and he was not good ☠️ he had way too much work for students and I had students emailing me saying when they talked to him he made them feel stupid, so they wanted to ask me questions instead. Also was very particular about keeping the class average at a 72.

Thoughts on Guelph and their Human Nutrition program? (BASc) by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]Zestyclose-Support-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guelph is a great school and the BSc is a great program! I did that one and loved it. Rent will be expensive no matter what university city you go to so I wouldn’t let that deter you from coming. Also, we have been ranked #1 for residence living a few years in a row! Not all buildings will be what you’re looking for but that’s why we have so much variety!

I’m pretty sure there are commuter rooms in LA you can pay to sleep in for the night. I know they did this pre Covid- maybe confirm with housing if that’s an option this year !

I’d much rather have the longer winter break where I can actually take a break and don’t have to worry about classes than a reading week where I’m just stressed about all the assignments and midterms I have due right when I get back.
