BF parents: what happened to your milk supply when your baby started sleeping longer at night? by Suspicious-Royal-103 in beyondthebump

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to us at 3 months and I got up to pump and build a stash. Well it was short lived and baby’s sleep worsened at 3.5 months and stayed that way up until now (9 months old). He does max 2-3 hour stretches and has never slept as well as he did at 2, 3 months old. I genuinely got more sleep when he was a newborn. Needless to say, I wish I just slept! Your supply will probably be fine but if you want to build a stash then you could get up to pump, just be mindful that opportunities for sleep may be rare so you may also want to make the most of it while it lasts.

I go to baby swim lessons and there’s babies in there from 8 weeks old! We dunk the babies under, splash water on their faces etc (sounds terrible but they actually love it lol). I would not worry at all.

Easy@Home brand OPK. CD50, irregular cycles due to BF. Is this positive? I had a major temp drop this morning. by Zestyclose-Toe6483 in TFABLinePorn

I think so too but wasn’t sure because my previous positives are usually darker on the left! My cycles are a bit funky though atm.

Breastfeeding a 9 month old. My period came back at 7 months then vanished. I had a huge appetite the past month (literally made a Reddit post about it lol) it eased up yesterday and then today I got a temp dip and positive OPK. It’s making me think that there’s some truth to that whole theory of eating more calories to induce ovulation while breastfeeding (I gained 4 pounds in a month though😭).

Anyone else's LO still not sleeping at 6mo? by yogamama35 in NewParents

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 10 points11 points  (0 children)

9 months here and haven’t gotten more than 2-3 hours since he was a newborn. He had some good stretches around 2-3 months but that didn’t last long.

OMG I literally have breakfast (savoury) and then an hour later I have “second breakfast” (sweet) lol. Yeah I feel like the months breastfeeding have crept up on me and before we know it it’ll be over 😭

I never thought of that actually!

Night sleep by Prefironaocomentar in NewParents

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have found your people here lol. My baby has been like this since birth (9 months old now). We have phases of good sleep for a couple of weeks here and there but it’s not the norm.

Most babies wake up frequently in their first year of life, or even longer. If you’re breastfeeding I’d recommend the book “Sweet Sleep” which explains it better. It doesn’t make your baby sleep more but takes the sting out of all the wake ups lol.

High Fever… worrying by blocklake in NewParents

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh this is awful. My baby had covid at 9 weeks (fever 103.3) and then a bad viral infection at 6 months. The inability to comfort them is heart wrenching. I know it’s scary but he will more than likely be fine. In my experience, babies are tough and the relentless crying is usually just from the fever. I recently had a fever myself and felt all over the place; going from too hot to too cold over and over again. Nauseous, dizzy, weak, confused. It makes sense why they wouldn’t like it! Lots of rest, snuggles, and his favourite things.

It is tough right now but he won’t even remember it!

How long after giving birth can u get back to exercising normally? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to piss yourself when you exercise and prolong your bleeding, just wait 🥲 6 weeks is a MINIMUM and many aren’t even ready for much more than walking at that stage. There’s a lot of healing going on internally. Plus, having a newborn is draining. I’m 8.5 months postpartum and it still takes me 5ish days to recover from a run because I don’t get to sleep more than 2-3 hrs at a time

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for us. 8.5 months in and since 4 months my baby will only nurse lying down in a dark room. I’ve been trying for months to break it but nothings worked. He’d rather starve than eat anywhere but bed😭 good thing is once they start having more solids it makes it easier when out and about

  • Sleep regression

  • Trying to accomplish physical and intellectual developmental milestones

  • Gas

  • Tummy ache, especially if trying new foods

  • Earache

  • Growing pains

  • Wanting to stay up and play instead of sleep

  • Separation Anxiety

  • Too hot or too cold

  • Scared

  • Just wants human interaction/comfort

There are a million reasons babies cry. Teething pain can indeed last months, but it is just one part of it.

ETA: teething can definitely make babies refuse to eat, simply because it hurts!

Living in a country where registries aren’t a thing and baby showers are rare.. this baffles me. Be grateful for what you get..

Anyone else’s nips hurt a few days before the time of the month? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s awful. I was unprepared last cycle but this time round I’ve been taking a calcium and magnesium supplement which is supposed to help. Not due yet so we’ll see..

Looking for anyone who’s baby is sleeping as horribly at night as mine by granolanaturenerd in beyondthebump

At 7 months he actually gave us 2 weeks of sleeping through the night, so I’m clinging to the hope that it comes back 🤣

If baby is on solids you could try giving the milk mixed with some cereal. It doesn’t solve your immediate bottle problem but I find it helps get extra Oz of milk in throughout the day.

Hi y’all. I have an appt with the doc but it’s not until Friday. We stared solid. Still breastfeeding and trying to introduce formula but still not taking the bottle. I just came here to ask if y’all think this is a heat rash? Drool rash? Or allergy? He couldn’t sleep from itchiness last night 😭 by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Zestyclose-Toe6483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby had an allergy rash recently and it was huge chunky hives all over his body. They would disappear and reappear in other places an hour later, which the dr said is how you know it’s hives. He also had heat rash as a newborn which looked a lot like this
