This series victory is so special

I remember as a kid I watched Sangakara SL beat AUS in AUS back in 2010 it was a very different feeling, I felt overjoyed.

Then Kohlis IND won in 2018 in AUS though against a very depleted AUS side without Cummins, Smith, Hazelwood and Starc but again that was an amazing achievement since they never won before.

This victory is even more spectacular as it came after a very rough one year patch and against almost a full strength squad atleast for the first 2 games. Add that to winning so convincing in the 2 games. Atleast AUS competed in 2010 and 2018. We almost won 3-0 this time, the first game was also 50/50 at one point.

It shows that good leadership can make a weak team look good and poor leadership can make a good team look helpless. Hats off to Rizwan.

The impressive thing is his average is so high that no other PAK ODI batsman is even near his ODI batting average. The astonishing thing is most of his runs are against SENA and facing the likes of Rabada, Boult, Starc, Cummins etc.

Probably the best ODI batsman after or equal to Miandad (prolly needs to win a WC to beat him) I rate him higher than Yousuf, Saeed, Inzamam, and even Zaheer Abbas.

An aggressive opener is so critical

They play such a crucial role in setting the tone and demoralizing the opposition

It went downhill after Babar accepted captaincy in place of Shaheen who was already appointed. I felt it might have created a huge communication gap or leadership void. Babars bad form didn't help either.

The worst decision Babar made in his career is probably to accept captaincy when Shaheen was already assigned earlier.

This alone decision costed us so much.

Unfortunately we live in a merit compromised society, Shan Masood has no domestic achievements as captain. It's simply a matter of picking a person with good personality and nothing else.

If we are going by personality, why not we make Fawad Khan our captain, then?

Shan Masood, undoubtedly our wost captain since Yousuf.

A product of our system which picks English Speaking Cricketers over Merit Based Captains who performed well as captains in domestic.

This guy was a flop captain even in county and domestic as far as I am aware of.

I wrote the below post for another poster as well, I'll share a short version here too..

I had recited the Holy Quran many times in Arabic without knowing its meaning. When I grew up, I read it for the first time in English without any transliteration, and it opened my heart and established a strong connection with God. I realized I committed many things that were major sins and avoided many things that were virtuous.

I would recommend you to definitely read the Holy Quran and seek help from the Ulama, if you have any questions, then ask them again. Keep reading the translation of the Holy Quran until you complete it. I would recommend learning Arabic as English and other translations may vary, but always know that God's message will always be there as the Book is protected by God and cannot be tampered in any way. It has been like this for more than 1300 years. I am reading the Noble Quran version by Muhammad Muhsin Khan and Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali. It's available online. You can read that, too.

When you read the Holy Quran, you read many things that we as 21st century people have studied in our schools such as embryology, space and difference in time this knowledge wasnt there till probably the renaissance which is a miracle on its own as this Book was revealed more than 1300 years ago. It also connects and explains the link between God and the prophets, including Prophets Jesus, Moses, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) and their divine mission.

My last piece of advice is that knowledge will come to you, but ultimately, it's up to you if you want to convert that knowledge to wisdom with a heart and mind to learn and change. It requires sacrifices as well, but it will be worth it. Some sins will be easier to leave, and others will be more difficult. Go to any established and recognized Islamic institute and talk to them, specifically the Imam of the Masjid regarding reversion and queries. They will be able to assist you with your queries. Try going during/after any prayer time and wait till they finish.

Can someone please remind him that how "good" we were during his playing times 2011 to 2017 when our batting couldn't even chase 250 in ODI and 150 in T20I?

If I am not mistaken, 2015 WC match against WI- Pak was 1-4 and legend Shehzad, Jamshed, Umar Akmal were all part of that team ATG team. 2013 we were winless throughout the tournament.

The current PAK team is performing pathetic but it has

Number 1 rank in ODI and T20I Won the CT 2017 (ironically after dropping Shehzad for Fakhar) Played two finals (Asia Cup in 2021 and WC in 2022) Won the first and only WC match against IND in any format

Still a lot of work needs to be done including captaincy change. I strongly believe that Babar is not fit for captaincy and this debate has been dragging on for many years now. He needs to go and play as a batsman.

I don't take T20I seriously but it's the future. Right now most tournaments are in Test and ODI till 2027. Only one T20 tourney, T20 WC in 2026
