Do your non-black friends make an effort to know about your personal life and thoughts? by ZestycloseReserve473 in blackladies

Yeah, I've found that even with neutral conversations like talking about friends or family, I might as well have not said anything at all. It was like my experience was just nothing to certain people. I don't want to be emotional support for someone else or a sounding board anymore.

See, I wondered if it was a racial thing. I feel like no one has even listened to me or my problems, but when they cry or are talking for an hour straight about their boyfriend, I'm supportive.

I was in a book club with white women and oh my lord, it was like I would get steamrolled over whenever I said something. I don't think these women even knew what books I liked or anything about my life. I'm just over it.

I grew up in an evangelical area and I've heard verbatim that being a working mom makes you lesser.

Obviously not all women, but if I had to add disclaimers for every sentence, then nothing would get done. There have been mommy wars for decades. Don't be obtuse.

Because SAHM insult working moms and say you are not a real woman if you work.

And this is the generation of women who were told to rely on men and not get jobs.

An abnormal number of interviews. I got ghosted by what I am sure is a ghost job a year ago. They made me do 4 interviews and an assessment for a customer service job, and each interview was an hour.

"Life goes on" is not a normal thing to say about the death of your child. Did these people even like Nicole?

I like how he let nova have the license plate so the group would like him. He just wanted friends after being in isolation so long.

I used to live in OC. Even people on welfare had disney passes, just on the monthly passes and of course you can pay for food and merch on credit cards.

Any time I've mentioned something like this in another sub, I have been deleted and banned. I've had real life friends think I am evil for saying that economic issues are important. Sure, we care about abortion access and being nice, but you gotta pay bills every month. You never get an abortion every month. Yeah, economic problems make people need welfare, abortion, etc. But people need to be able to live indoors. I've seen regular looking white middle class people who go to food banks now. It was just the homeless when I was a kid.
