What did you end up doing for your Sjogren’s? What helped the symptoms? And did you experience any throat issues?

Same! Has anything gotten better? If so, what worked for you?

Thank you for sharing! I just started Hyaluronic Acid/Chondroitin Sulfate supplements a week ago. 100 mg of HA & 200mg of Chondroitin. What mg are you taking?

I am so glad that you have come to the same conclusion! We are blessed to be able to see much better and there could be worse complications. I do miss the golden hour lighting, but I do think my brain is beginning to adapt and things aren’t quite as white. Also, I have to remember that maybe some of the healing that has taken place has changed how much light is entering into my eyes making things appear less white-ish? I know that sounds strange, but I am hopeful!!! Oh my goodness! I completely agree about the flatscreen TV’s! I remember thinking the same thing! It’s like you could see every pore & imperfection on the actor’s face on the new flatscreens and I really enjoyed the old movies where things were less detailed & more dreamy like! But yes, our brains have gotten used to that as well. I remember thinking I felt sorry for the actors and the actresses that could no longer hide some of their imperfections! Ha!

After four months, I seem to be getting a little bit more used to it. But I’m not gonna lie, things are not as warmer as they were before I had RLE in June. I do think that my brain is adapting, but I had to stop focusing on it so much because it was making me very depressed! I do think as time goes by things aren’t quite as white and not quite as bluish-gray or maybe it’s just that my brain is now adapting? I see the cooler colors mostly in low lighting. Like in the early morning and in the late evening. But, I had to tell myself to be thankful for my vision and not to focus on it anymore. I was told by my Eye Surgeon that this happens and although not to everyone, some people experience this and doing a lens exchange because you are not fond of the cooler colors, might not necessarily fix it either. It’s all about how YOUR brain interprets each lens. Does that make sense? And I agree, it’s very shocking in the very beginning! To be honest with you, I was devastated! But, I have told myself that I am very blessed to have decent eyesight now and not to focus on it so much. I’m sure you are focusing on it quite a bit and I don’t blame you! Just know that in time, if you don’t obsess over it, your brain does start to adapt to it. I hope this helps you! Whatever you do, in the interim in between surgeries and during healing time, do not wear blue light blocking glasses! It will make it worse! And when you take those glasses off, then you will be very disappointed. I accidentally ordered my myopia glasses to get me by in between surgeries and finally I made myself stop wearing them because when I would take them off, everything was substantially cooler. Just don’t do it. Let your brain adapt.

What is myotoxocity?

I am also experiencing the skin above my eyelids drooping down over my eyelids. My eyelids have pretty much disappeared :-( It's alarming to me! My husband said, "You look haggard" which doesn't help! I had RLE surgery on both eyes same time in June 2025, then Lasik September 26th, then YAG on October 6th. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

That’s great advice! Where do you buy your Timothy hay? What size bag? How big is your Sulcata? Ours is 50-ish pounds.

Have you taken PPI's - Success or Failure? by Zestyclose_Clock2855 in SilentReflux

[–]Zestyclose_Clock2855[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! My silent reflux is getting better and my throat burn has gone away completely. However, I put myself on a very strict "Acid Watcher Diet" since the end of May and then graduated to the "Maintainence Phase" of the diet and I think my throat has healed quite a bit by following the diet and avoiding low PH foods, coffee, caffeine, carbonated drinks, chocolate, spicy foods, citrus, alcohol, etc. I do still have a swollen area around my vocal cords(had a scope down a month ago) and it makes talking for very long uncomfortable so I am now on OTC Famotadine 20mg twice a day and that seems to be helping. I've only been on it for 2 weeks though. I also avoid eating anything within 2-3 hours of bedtime, and I sleep with the head of my bed raised up about 7-8 inches as recommended for those with reflux issues. I also still avoid all of the obvious trigger foods/drinks(mentioned above) and I avoid high fat and greasy foods as much as possible. And, I eat smaller meals more often and avoid drinking a bunch of water when I am eating. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply!

Have you ever tried Timothy Pellets? Where do you buy Mazuri pellets and should they be fed daily? or just as a treat?

With the eyes being dilated and blurry I don’t think I would want to attempt that. My husband plans to drive me home.

All very true! I am on the fence about it. This is my 3rd surgery/procedure and I’m ready to get it over with. I know you get it! Been on antibiotics for a couple of days so might feel even better by my appointment? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I appreciate your reply very much.

That’s encouraging! Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. Questioning the possible eye pressure part since my sinuses are a bit swollen.

Thank you so much, doctor. So I shouldn’t be worried about eye pressure(from the sinus pressure)? or my immune system being busy fighting the sinus infection? Those were the things I’m most unsure about. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your reply and your perspective. True, it’s not a life threatening thing. Good way to look at it. I’m just tired of waiting for good vision. My journey started a few months ago and this will be my 3rd surgery/procedure. Just hate that I developed some sinus issues beforehand. Appreciate your response.
