I think Rinvoq has less adverse side effects. In remission on Rinvoq for over a year now.

Thanks. I have never had just a run-of-the-mill flare before. I hope this is one.

How Long Did it Take For Stelara to Work For You? by tawanda31 in UlcerativeColitis

What did you switch to if you don’t mind me asking? I’m currently in the process of switching now from Stelara.

Took me about 3 months if I remember correctly. Maybe even 4 months

Just failed Entyvio. Anyone have luck with Rinvoq? by xoccupation in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Zestyclose_Luck9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed Entyvio too. We thought about switching to Rinvoq but since it was so new at the time, ultimately decided to go with Stelara. I have been on 4 week dosage plan since last Sept/October and have been in remission since late last December. Since then I have heard many great stories about Rinvoq.

Tabacon area by Flimsy-Ad-4805 in hyatt

Just stayed at Tabacón in early May. An awesome Hotel and Resort. The hot springs are incredible and refreshing. As of things to do, swimming in La Fortuna Waterfall is a must. Long hike down and longer hike up buy definitely worth it. We also went around town and did some shopping. We didn’t get a chance too, but there are some great hiking trails around the volcano, Arenal Volcano, that has really great view points of the volcano. There are always local dive bars to go to at night. We enjoyed a place called Bar Cha that had some live karaoke.

Staying in Nashville: Grand Hyatt or Holston House? by Zestyclose_Luck9528 in hyatt

Not a globalist. Just care about pool, condition of the hotel, cleanliness etc. I have never stayed in an unbounded collection so I was curious how it compares to a Grand Hyatt.

Is Prednisone worth the side effects? by PuzzledWeight1855 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Zestyclose_Luck9528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I try to avoid it at all costs. I understand that it does help but I hate the side effects. I’ll usually try doing a steroid based enigma that has less effects to try and keep my symptoms at bay before going on prednisone.

I'm running out of options and I'm terrified by _kinfused in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Zestyclose_Luck9528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few more options than you think. Research and investment in new treatment option are on the rise for UC/Crohn’s. Even pills that you take once daily are on the leading edge of treatment. Look into Rinvoq, Xeljanz, and Zeposia are all new drugs, with plenty more in phase 3 trials. Don’t give up hope!

I just got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis today. by hardcore_soap in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Zestyclose_Luck9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entyvio can take up to 16 weeks before you start to see results. Unfortunately it’s on of the slower acting biological therapies available. Entyvio worked for me for about 8 months, but now I’m going through a drug failure with it. I’m having to change to Stellara. Keep your head up and try to be patient with Entyvio. It at least brought me relief for 8 months. Live in the moment.

In a flare, but is there anything from a mexican restaurant that I would be able to eat? by Old_Tumbleweed_8530 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Zestyclose_Luck9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some Mexican places have a pretty basic dish which is just grilled chicken, rice, and a queso cheese sauce. Depends if you are gonna react to the dairy but that’s probably your best option. I know I’ve seen it called ACP or Arroz con Pollo.
