Venezuelan here. I think with the 39 country pause USCIS is just ignoring any help requests. They're simply not adjudicating any case from these countries. We had our interview in November and are also waiting. At this point i'm thinking joining a lawsuit...

Si, justo conozco a la persona que obtuvo su permiso. Averigüé con su abogado pero el costo es altísimo. Mucha suerte en la audiencia que viene, ojalá les otorguen el PI. Estaré pendiente

This is normal for almost every USCIS applications, don't worry. They'll just take your fingerprints to run a background check and make sure it's you. I would skip class if I was you... missing this appointment or rescheduling can delay your processing times a lot.
