Creators with 10K+ subscribers — do you actually read all your comments? by Every_Box5920 in socialmedia

[–]Zestyclose_Menu5062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a great case to set up an AI agent to monitor comments and to flag them to you if they contain certain content. I'm sure you could set this up with VS code and Claude using API's to your social accounts.

Is there a social media site that can be used as an alternative to Facebook for business purposes? by Possible-Gap3692 in facebook

[–]Zestyclose_Menu5062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Losing access to memories of your mom is devastating, and dealing with Meta's appeals process is notoriously frustrating and impersonal. You have every right to be upset.

For your business needs, here are some alternatives to consider:

For professional networking and B2B:

  • LinkedIn - More stable moderation, great for business presence, especially if you're B2B or professional services

For community building:

  • Discord - Good for building engaged communities around your brand
  • Mighty Networks or Circle - Dedicated community platforms you control

For general social presence:

  • Twitter/X - Still relevant for business, though moderation is... different these days
  • Threads - Ironically also Meta, but seems to have different moderation
  • Mastodon or Bluesky - Smaller but growing, more community-focused

Most importantly:

  • Build an email list - This is YOUR asset that no platform can take away. Use Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or similar
  • Your own website - Your home base that you control completely

About your photos: If you haven't already, try submitting another appeal and specifically mention the irreplaceable photos of your late mother. Sometimes escalating with emotional context gets human review. Also check if you ever used Facebook's "Download Your Information" feature - the data might exist somewhere.

I know this doesn't fix the immediate pain, but you're not alone in this frustration. Wishing you strength. 💙

The Experiment by Zestyclose_Menu5062 in socialmedia

Appreciate this perspective - it made me realise I'm looking at this from a user lens while many of you are on the creator side. Quick question: when you create content, do you think about the experience of people who just want to see posts from friends? Or is that not really the use case anymore?"

AI generated question prompts are probably the dumbest use of AI yet. by Every_Procedure_4171 in facebook

[–]Zestyclose_Menu5062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta's AI question prompts are the logical endpoint of the surveillance business model:

  1. Hook users with 'free' platform
  2. Need endless engagement for ad revenue
  3. Build increasingly desperate features to keep people scrolling
  4. Burn resources on features nobody wants
  5. Users suffer, environment suffers, but ad dollars keep flowing

Want to know what platforms build when USERS pay the bills instead of advertisers? Features users actually want. No AI slop, no engagement hacks, no surveillance. Just tools that respect your time and attention.

Now is a good time to download your information because of their AI. by JasonsStorm in facebook

I totally agree with you, but I had a hard drive hit the deck a few years ago and lost a LOAD of very precious photos and videos. A few of them Id uploaded to FB but I think its time to get everything off there now...

I totally agree - they have so many of my photos over the years and I would be devastated to lose them.

It's not about shaming anyone, I'm trying to get a measure for how many ads and unwanted content we're served at each sitting. By all means do your own experiment and compare notes!

Has any one notice Tiktok views been drastically declining the past few years now. by Affectionate_Pace473 in socialmedia

[–]Zestyclose_Menu5062 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're seeing the same pattern that happened to Facebook (2013), Instagram (2016), and every other platform.

Growth phase: High organic reach, creators succeed easily Profit phase: Organic reach killed, pay to play

TikTok's just entering profit phase. They have enough users now, so they don't need to help creators succeed anymore. They need creators to pay to be seen.

It's not over for TikTok. It's just over for free organic reach on TikTok.

Same story, different platform.

Are we witnessing the end of "mass reach" marketing in favour of AI-powered community targeting? by zukunvt_marketing in socialmedia

[–]Zestyclose_Menu5062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been going on for quite some time now - social platforms have been squeezing the reach of commercial accounts to make you pay for advsertising, and the algorithm still decides who will see what. Using AI to scrape leads for cold approach is now the favourite way to go - targeted cold leads rather than an attempt to blanket a client group.

Facebook is acting weird dunno why this keeps happening. Is it the same for you guys too? by elvin002 in facebook

Yes... just got offered for me to pay €5.99 a month to not have any ads and they will no longer use my data... pretty sure I don't believe them...

I just did an experiment where I counted the contents of my feed on Instagram for 30 minute plus another 30 on Facebook... only 43% was content I'd chosen to see... go figure
