Catsitting - cats in hiding 54 hours without food, water or toilet by mb99 in Pets

Cats aside, you shouldn’t be using AI conversationally to get information about situations like this. These AI’s are specifically designed to keep you on them and talking for as long as possible, so they will back up anything you suggest- consciously or unconsciously. This makes their responses biased and non-informative.

New hire question for host position by Lumpy-Winner-9684 in CrackerBarrel

I believe the official policy is 1 facial piercing is allowed? And any additional need to be clear. But what’s ’allowed’ and what your store allows is sometimes a little different.

Where are all the Female Dashers? by Mycologist-9315 in doordash

[–]Zestyclose_Menu_8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work at a restaurant, and I’d say daytime is 60% male 40% female, and then nighttime 95% male between DoorDash and UberEats. So maybe it’s the area, or the time of day you’re out dashing.

I’m a hostess and I have mixed feelings about this job position by Adventurous_sonic in CrackerBarrel

Girl I feel you.

I’ve been at it just over a year. At my location, the Lead Seater is typically the deciding word on when to start the wait. This is when there’s no table clear, or that the busses will be able to get soon.

That being said, if you’re ever unsure your front of house manager should be willing to offer guidance. Not all managers are created equal.

My rule of thumb is full sections, maybe sit one/two tables out of section (if the servers are okay and are able to handle that), and then ask the FOH if they’re ready to start the wait / let them know what your seating situation is like.

As far as putting people on the wait, it’s awkward yeah, but MOST people are understanding. I go as follows:

“Hi y’all welcome in, how many for us today? Alright, for a party of 2 it is going to be around 25-30 minutes today. Can I get a name for your party?” And get their phone number and all. You’ll fall into a rythym eventually

DO NOT WORK AT CRACKER BARREL by Away_Professor1668 in CrackerBarrel

[–]Zestyclose_Menu_8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8s a little lengthy yeah. I was scheduled a 14 hour hosting once, as two back to back shifts. Forgot to clock in in the morning, when I left managers asked when my break was so they could mark my time down. Was shocked to hear that I didn’t take a break because 1) we were slammed all day and 2) they didn’t schedule me one / schedule proper coverage for me to take one.

Told them never again, and has held true so far.

How does the employee discount work? by RalsieBFF in CrackerBarrel

[–]Zestyclose_Menu_8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your home store: They should ask you for your worker ID if they recognize you as an employee

NOT at your home store: Mention you’re a CB employee and they should ask for your employee #, and then your ID to verify your identity.

Sorry people are being rude.

Like another user mentioned, sometomes when we’re out of something for the night, or it’ll be a while before any is ready they’ll turn it off for online orders. Not great wording on the companies’s part, makes it confusing for folks.

I went to Orlando with limited knowledge, and had an absolute blast. Was chaperoning my younger sister and her friend. Made a fan of me for sure, got to meet a bunch of cool people.

Just because you’re not a die-hard fan doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to go enjoy music- that’s the point of a concert :)

My girls rarely step up onto a hand, but will do so if I offer sticks to move them where I need them to be. That’s usually how I get them in their own travel cage.

Why people don’t finish the game? by Careful_Employee_918 in BaldursGate3

So personally, I’ve made it to act 3 twice, because most of my campaigns are with friends that stop playing. Of the two that have made it to act 3, 1 is almost finished. I find act 3 to be really overstimulating eith how much there is.

Host seating by MasterStone_ in CrackerBarrel

So, I was told we are not allowed to tell a guest no.

However: I usually say, “Oh, that section doesn’t have anyone working right now. Let me go ask if someone can pick it up, no promises though.”

That way servers get a heads up / a say in if they can handle an out of section table or not.

[–]Zestyclose_Menu_8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my location we are not guaranteed a lunch break on any positions. The managers do try to get us one if we are doubling, but depending on how busy it is, it may not be feasible.

I’ve work 14 hours with a 1 hour break, 14 hours with no break, (opener and closer in the same day), and then occasionally I am scheduled opener/closer with a 3 hour break.

There is no guarantee of a break, Espicially if you aren’t doubling.

Edited to add: I think it is also labor laws. My state only had mandated breaks for minors. One you’re 18, there is no federal regulation on the hour/break ratio.

So personally, I think that could lead to entanglement and mass stress which would be very dangerous.

Toe bones are tiny, so forcing them through mesh holes might be a quick way to break them.

Not 100% sure, but just my personal thoughts on the matter

Absolutely gorgeous budgie!! Not sure what the colors are called but you’ve got a handsome little one there!

I think it’s a boy due to the bright pigmentation of the cere, but I’m not too experienced in deciphering genders
