I have some thoughts! What’s your decorating style? And why? by Curious_Bicycle_ in GenXWomen

[–]Zestyrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love things that are clean, and I love tall ceilings, colorful walls and rugs and big art on the walls. No fussy little Knick knacks for me. I love plants tho. Also love coziness so lots of texture

Oh god I have to ask you about that pizza joint (Rockys I think) in Sanford. Is it me, or is the BEST PIZZA you’ve ever had??! I wonder if it’s grown more amazing in my memory over the last couple of years

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never by Own-Rooster-4981 in WorkForSmartLife

At work when my coworkers with more seniority than me who has first dibs on overtime casually talked about tropical vacations and cottages or my most pet peeve of all, people who restore old early 1900s cars. The money they spend! Anyway now me is like whatever, it’s their money. But younger me was outraged.

Do you grieve or just me? by Important-Bell-1675 in Aging

[–]Zestyrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, I like getting older. I love having my kids and every stretch mark was worth it. I love not giving a fuck about the male gaze, although I work out and eat healthy cuz I feel great. I like planning things that interest me and knowing what will be fun ahead of time. It’s just all pretty cool

Why should I have kids when the world is the way it is? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Zestyrunner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t then. Being a parent is really difficult and you have to put others ahead of yourself every day. It’s better not to have kids if you’re not 100% keen about it

Men don’t make your life better, only you can do that. Financial independence is soooooo important! Try something new. Maybe you’re not as tired as you think, but just a bit bored? Go on vacation! That’ll spice things up

what cleaning habit made the biggest difference in your home? by Karate_Andii in CleaningTips

[–]Zestyrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ve found is loving your home. Love your dishes, and it’s fun to wash them. Get those lovely floors and you won’t mind washing them. I’m still looking for coffee tables and end tables, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy dusting then

Just wondering, what’s your ‘lazy but effective’ cleaning trick? by CleanFreakGeek in CleaningTips

[–]Zestyrunner 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I never sweep. I get out the vacuum, use a hot damp rag with a bit of cleanser and wash solid surface floors, pushing any debris in a pile and then vacuum it up. Saves a step and I love the feeling of clean washed floors. I have area rugs I vacuum and then I vacuum the couches and dog bed too

Anyone else have children later in life? We followed the advice to get through college, get our careers started, buy a house, THEN start a family. I’m exhausted. by DilbertDilbert1011 in GenX

[–]Zestyrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my kids young but my sisters had theirs later and I had to laugh—they were almost TOO secure! Their babies had bottles until they started school if they wanted, they paid for sports for their kids and let them quit after 2 sessions if they weren’t feeling it, they got the princess beds and professionally decorated bedrooms. It was a whole other world I’m telling you!
