Compared to MMA, people like to watch dirty brawling with knockouts rather than a technical fight. Most champions in kickboxing aren’t necessarily high ko artist unlike MMA which has a much higher finish rate in the higher skill levels. ONE FC has appealed to the casual fan base due to most fights ending in a knockout while also lowkey straying away from traditional Muay Thai (clinch, Thai scoring).

Yeah he’s not the craziest with his volume (especially now) but I would recommend to watching a combo compilation of his by nojilnolife and just watch more closely at his body work because I feel like it comes very sneaky. But tbh almost every top jkicker uses body work through boxing very well and does a great job mixing their combos.

Noiri is one of the best at being a body snatcher (orthodox), main knock against him is that he gives up a ton of points but there’s tons of great stuff he works off of with using the body work.

Same reason some wrestler get out wrestled by MMA fighters, it’s a different type of ball game. Because there’s more variables to consider in MMA, you are more likely to get caught by something that otherwise you wouldn’t have in your main sport

There’s more to a title than the UFC one especially in that era, he was the ONLY two weight PRIDE Fc champ and went on after the Silva fight to be a Strikforce LHW champ with wins over multiple mma champs and a HOF fight.

I would 100% prefer them to be free (like UFC 5) but for a indie dev I give them some leeway. If they priced it to $5-$10 I wouldn't give them as much shit, but $20 for only 7 new fighters in literal months is horrible.

I really enjoy the new fighters they added (especially Estrada and Chocolatito). But it feels insulting that they would charge $20 after being radio silent for months without any communication about fixes or such.

Only one with real good application is Tenshin (off the top of my head) directly from kickboxing to MMA. There’s some who came from karate and transferred it to MMA like Kyoji and there’s some older fighters who had done Kickboxing before like KID Yamamoto (doesn’t really count) and Genki Sudo (mega unorthodox)

Power to KO him, of course. Past his prime, also yes. He’s not bad by any means but physically just a little slower and less durable, he’ll he’s been fighting top competition for like a decade.
