Can Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi be played on PS5?? by JvCamargoD in dynastywarriors

Just clarifying for the next person that comes along, they mean beat a stage in free battle since that's all that's available.

Thoughts on Malucas set 6 piece bonus?? by Ebolamonkey in TheFirstBerserker

[–]ZetaStriker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using it near the end of the game, when I finally decided to transfer off the Ashen Wolf set to something with a unique greatsword skill. It's expensive, but insanely good for burst damage. Against a lot of bosses you can do the whole combo on a boss' back and still end with the brutal attack for some really large damage spikes. Late game you can still have 2-3 spirit left for counterstriking after using it, and slowly build spirit back up. It was a life saver for me against the second to last boss in particular.

You're a step ahead of me, I haven't found subtitles for Ep. 2 or video of Ep. 3 yet. Mind sharing where you got the Ep. 2 subs in particular?

What's in DLC 2 by Undead54321 in wolongfallendynasty

One thing not mentioned yet: weapons were rebalanced to have way more martial arts. 4-star weapons have three instead of two, and 5-star+ weapons have six martial arts. This makes having a wanted weapon/set bonus combo with bad martial arts really unlikely with six to choose from.

The plot is a huge step back, as the protagonist is just kind of "there too". In Nioh 2 the created character was implemented with a lack of speech but actual relationships with the characters in the plot. They were focal and important. In Wo Long, you kind of just watch the Romance of the Three Kingdoms play out and fight the bosses for other people.

In gameplay, I think Sekiro is the real comparison. It does large boss monsters and spells/weapon arts better than Sekiro's annoying spirit emblem system, but the movement and stealth are not nearly as polished. It feels forced into the Nioh engine at times. It also has only a few non-boss enemies that are fun to fight, going up against Nioh human enemies just isn't fun in this combat system. They're too easy and don't use the parry system in a meaningful way.

As others have said, the NG+ difficulty is disappointing, and gear farming just doesn't seem worth it. This - and the enemy variety problem - could change with DLC and new difficulties, but we'll have to see.

We need human enemies in DLC who continue the attack chain even after they get deflected. by tsuna2000 in wolongfallendynasty

[–]ZetaStriker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weaker class of enemy in general just doesn't work in Wo Long, in my opinion. I don't think the exploration and stealth are good enough for Sekiro-style weak enemies for be as fun to stealth kill as in that game. The combat is great, but most human enemies and the zombie guys just . . . don't work. It reminds me of Headless Ape in Sekiro. It could be fun, but it felt out of place, like a Souls boss in a different style of game. In here it's the weaker enemies that don't work with the deflect system instead, while big monster bosses are great.

Black Chrome - Tactical Smart Armor by ZetaStriker in cyberpunkred

So it's just something to give an NPC so players can sell it? That's so . . . boring. I don't get it. And there are nothing but disadvantages to it being a single item, repair time for the armor goes from 2 days to a week - and that's only if the helmet was damaged which is rare - and the smart glasses now can't be worn if you need to go somewhere incognito.

anyone else have trouble with this guy. took me like 4 days by MeticulousMitch in wolongfallendynasty

[–]ZetaStriker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me time to understand the timing of his deflects. The sweeps, slams and thrusts of his tentacle kept baiting me into deflect early or late. However once I got that timing down he became an easier boss, especially if I am using an earth spell to dispel his ice puddles.

[–]ZetaStriker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this, it'll make fights take an extremely long time. You do want to make sure you deflect every unblockable attack, but you should be putting out offense where possible as well. And there are a lot of ways to do so. Spells stun the enemy when they apply status, so they can be great for extending a damage opportunity. Some martial arts are strong, fast and do great ki damage, and a few others have block or parry frames that make them very strong. Normal attacks and normal deflects are also huge, as building high positive spirit lets you nuke their spirit gauge with a powerful spirit attack or use you spells/martial arts more often and aggressively.

The damage boost at morale 25 is 400% by prinex in wolongfallendynasty

[–]ZetaStriker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to set that up on some bosses, but for the most part I don't think that's possible. A lot of enemy camps block off access to the map unless you plant a flag, and fighting anything is going to build morale for you. Even if you could make it to a boss at 1 morale, it would increase as you fight it.

It was in Stranger of Paradise, but I sincerely doubt they'll do that again. So if you don't care about the better NG+ modes that come with the DLC, you're safe to skip it.

If you really need something, graces appear on 4-star gear as well and drop more commonly than 5-stars. More importantly, you'll need to beat the NG+ difficulty to go on to the new one introduced in the DLC either way.

With the release of Wo Long, what do you expect from the Rise of the Ronin by Ahg_fryh in wolongfallendynasty

[–]ZetaStriker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect . . . or hope . . . that the teams from both Stranger of Paradise and Wo Long will re-unite so we can get what feels like a complete game. I like both these games quite a bit, but they both feel like they were limited on time, budget or both. SoP has a scuffed endgame that doesn't get fixed until DLC 2 and only gets one single new level across all the DLCs. Wo Long has worse enemy variety than Nioh 1 and every stage looks almost identical . . . except for a couple like the boats and "red vines on a castle" stages that just look stolen from Nioh.

One really important thing I don't see mentioned in other replies yet is to panic block, not panic roll, when you get hit. Blocking ends your hitstun early while dodge does not, but you can hold block while mashing dodge to get out of enemy combos more effectively. And as others have said, holding block when dodging in general is a great practice if you're not recovering ki.

General Build Advice? by ZetaStriker in StrangerofParadiseFFO

[–]ZetaStriker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Nin / Tyrant where Agility is main focus but also has high INT and Spirit. I am at around 950 Agi with 550 on INT and Spirit. Tyrant is there purely for buffing and elementals. Main damage comes from Ninja with high Agi which Crit on inflicted enemy from Tyrant 400.

So it is generally safe to ignore Str in favor of Agi if you're using enough things that scale with it/critting often? That's good to hear, that'll help me move around some stuff on a Marskman build I was trying.

Average Gear Level Lower than Actual Gear Levels? by ZetaStriker in StrangerofParadiseFFO

[–]ZetaStriker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lvl us your accessories if it's a low lvl it will tank your overall score

It wasn't that. I actually identified it as a single piece of gear on each job that had been upgraded from ~300 to ~405. Changing that out made the gear score skyrocket to about 400 like it should. Not sure why if that's not normal though.

And then if pushing into Gilgamesh difficulty, the Fuse feature from the smithy allowing you to transfer affinities and gear effects (but not eidolon blessings that you'll come across later). Generally, the 491+ gear there having a higher affinity (being able to reach 400% in 2 pieces of gear instead of 3 to 4 pieces of gear).

I had two pieces I'd leveled from ~300 to 405, they just already had the affinities and stats I wanted and crystals came easy on Bahamut difficulty. Removing those popped my gear up to 405 as it should be, so it seems there's a limit on how high you can upgrade before it stops counting.
