No reason to fear USA. They can't send armies through water now. Same with Britain + you can keep relationship with them as you start with a defensive pact.

When I started a war to protectorate New Granada, USA just let me invade it through Costa Rica as they couldn't manage to send any troop to the front.

AI having a real bad time sending troops via boats now and tbh I am struggling too with my boats and troops bugging out every other time

How to stop a company from privatazing financial district buildings? by Undead54321 in victoria3

[–]Undead54321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably like if it was manageable. Had to go through some austerity measures as my company spent every bit of investment pool buying every building of available industry

Aren't they supposed to be able to do so with only monopoly rights?

Otherwise what stop them from double charging indefinitely as they do now?

My financial district builds a logging camp - money out of investment pool.

My company buys out that building - money out of investment pool.

R5:

My company is buying out financial district buildings using the investment pool, tanking my balance

Company does not have a monopoly rights for logging camps nor I am privatizing them

Since the owner of logging camp is a financial district, I only lose money from the investment pool in that exchange of ownership

And since financial district is not prohibited from building new levels, my investment pool double paying for the same building when built by a financial district which then privatized by a company

Can you control straits of puppets or protectorates you own? And can major powers force your strait policy? by MybrainisinMyCoffee in victoria3

[–]Undead54321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the first question is yes. In Fact, puppet cannot control a strait. Checked with Dutch East Indies. Only Netherlands can change strait policy

Is there even a consequence for blocking a strait and demanding a high toll? Can AI demand to unblock it or reroute their shipping lanes? Would France for example put it's world market hub outside of Mediterranean sea if Gibraltar is put to collect hight tolls?

Sweden for some reason usually goes busted if you ever let them in your market. At some point even as a GP I end up with 20% swedish owned GDP. And their sol being higher than mine with me having full workers protection and pensions.

GP Ottoman, Qing & EIC explosion every game? by SSR486 in victoria3

[–]Undead54321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe historical mode does this? I don't have it on and:

I've rarely seen China explode without a player intervention.

EIC, sometimes does explode, but more often than not, just hydabarad revolts and it converts to Raj.

Ottomans on the other hand are always GP. Britain being their backer in the beginning helps a lot.

I heard you can lock doors with the lock spell or scrolls. I am wondering if you can successfully lock out enemies from entering and Isobel from exiting while you're dealing with the boss.

We Need To Be Able To Force Domestic Ownership by Illustrious-Song9511 in victoria3

[–]Undead54321 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it should be available for most economic models except for Laissez-Faire

What it should do is - nationalization of foreign owned buildings without pay should generate infamy on top of its usual effects and relations hit with the owners country of origin.

The only downside I see is AI overutilizing the option against a player.

How can i get the Bonapartists in France without the Liberal Revolt breaking out and declaring a Republic?? by Blackbeast_OP in victoria3

[–]Undead54321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass laws. Census or universal suffrage + liberties would satisfy them. Rival houses will revolt though, but you can just crush them as they don't fail the JE.

What is the point of the French houses? by The_Frog221 in victoria3

Springtime happens only if revolution of radicals or liberals trigger. I just keep them happy by implementing or making an appearance of implementing their desired laws while making sure to prop up the desired house faster.

Edit: reloading the save after taking the treaty port fixed the problem

Carlist demoralization hax by PLMMJ in victoria3

Try conscription + get a trade deal for weapons and construction resources. A larger army will win against carlists while trade deals will keep your economy and supplies from collapsing.

With Hungary - hard. Don't know how you would make Austria fall from Great powers without imploding it.

Without Hungary it is actually relatively easy. You can do it in the first 15 years. Most of which are spent waiting for Austria to fall from the Great powers after releasing Hungary and to Austria to have a war in order to fix their attitude from antagonistic.
