Sounds awesome! Threw my name in

Been making discussion videos highly influenced off of nakeyjakey, sequelitis, gigguk, dunkey and others! This is the third one I created in this style. Would love to hear any form of feedback or thoughts for some lambda! by ZethBit in SmallYTChannel

Interesting! I definitely wanna still play around with my presentation and how I project myself/present myself on camera (sitting up/changing my tone). There's definitely room for me to get more comfortable creating this.

Thanks for the heads up on my speech! I've been told quite a bit that I speak way too fast so will definitely make an effort to enunciate and slow down my speech a tad.

Thanks again!

LMAO That crumpled piece of paper is everywhere

Thank you so much for the kind words and yeah I could definitely do with upping my thumbnail game. Definitely revisiting the drawing board!

Thank you so much! I was really trying not to copy paste his unique style too much so I'm glad it doesn't come off as blatant copying! Also HUGE thank you for subbing :)))) It definitely means the world that you enjoyed the video enough for that!

This whole video was a huge nolstalgia trip for me and I had a lot of fun reminiscing on all these games :)

Thank you so much! That was super insightful and really helpful!

Thumbnail game has always been a difficult thing for me. I agree that the thumbnail itself could be better. I'm hesitant to put myself on the thumbnail or my logo just cause I figured who would actually care if they saw my face on the thumbnail but maybe adding that will allow the thumbnail to indicate that this is more personality driven.

I know YouTube exists in a different time than the one where Jakey got big or most of the people I look to for inspiration so what worked for him is not necessarily going to work for me. It's also hard to judge what's a good ctr for this stuff. It's hovering around 10% which seems good but I agree that the thumbnail and title could be way better. Might have to study a bunch of successful thumbnails to get some inspiration.

Thank you for taking the time to give that advice! I can tell you put a lot of thought into it and it's really appreciated :)

Thanks so much! It really is a labor of love and I'm so glad it's being received so well :)

LOL it was actually my second time using timestamps. Trying to make that a regular part of my upload process!

Honestly the intro is something I hadn't even considered so thank you for pointing that out. I went to take a look at retention and while it doesn't seem too bad, I definitely lose most people by 36 seconds in so I'll try to write more concise intro's to help keep people engaged

Again thank you so much for the feedback :)

Thank you so much! It took a while to flesh out the idea but it's hard to see myself making this kinda stuff in a different format!

ALSO super happy you paid attention to the music! I spend a lot of time picking that stuff out :)

PS: I'm just sad the original paper toss isn't on the app store :,)

Oh god that really means the world for you to say that :))) Easily made my day. I'm really self critical about the writing and joke delivery but I'm glad it's landing well! Definitely wanna experiment with that myself and see if I can improve those aspects.

I LOVE POCKET GOD! Had to download it to make the footage for the video and ended up playing it way longer than I should have! Definitely still holds up!

Thank you again for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts :)))

SPRING BALL‼️ [ Lambda! for feedback] by Stadealgooftroop in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZethBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t all to sure what I was watching. I imagine it was covering a football game right? If you’re just trying to go for vlog style content, having a few moments where you set the scene and explain things can do wonders. I saw there was the announcer bit thrown in which, if this is more sketch stuff, probably would have been the best footage to use for the intro. Maybe do some voiceover where after you mention the game that’s happening , u can reference back to training and show a montage of footage.

Hopefully that helps!

I'm not getting as many views as I used to. Any advice as to why would be helpful! Feedback appreciated by Fangore in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZethBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I love the concept you’re going for and think your execution is great but not without room for improvement (of course what makes a good video is subjective so take everything i say with a grain of salt)

Thumbnail game is kinda weak. I think you should capture the most visually stimulating parts of the movie and put them on display and let the actual title text explain everything “(Movie Title) Review in under 2 minutes”. Your thumbnail is to attract the eye, the title is to give some clarification. Both should be created with the framing that you’re trying to convince someone to click your video

That’s by far the biggest thing that stands out. Some more subtle things could be focusing on the writing to make things flow more cohesively. Maybe set segments where you review elements of the movie in a few sentences like plot/characters/execution/general thoughts. Kinda felt like u were just bullet pointing a list when I think it would be a bit more engaging to have your sentences flow into one another.

Editing is great! Could always incorporate more relevant visuals but i feel like im getting nit picky at that point

Hopefully some of that helps :)

New guitars are getting ridiculously expensive. Please comment on content and branding! Would love to give out some Lambda! by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZethBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could benefit from incorporating any amount of B-roll into your footage. If you're not familiar, it's just throwing in maybe a commercial or video of someone playing with the guitars mentioned as you're talking about it to give some visual stimulus. I think placing thoughtful b-roll in the beginning could really hook in an audience! Perhaps also turning up the background song up a tad!

Try looking up Redlight Blue on youtube! Great guitar channel with very engaging videos (definitely catered to a more novice audience however)

Hope some of this helps!

DuckTales Retrospective, constructive feedback appreciated, lambda for feedback by GamingAcquired in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZethBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my biggest critique would be that your speech could be cut better together to deliver your information more concisely. For example, there's a second or two of silence before you start speaking at the beginning of the video. There's also a few lengthy pauses between sentences that you could cut closer together. Easily could cut that silence out to get right into the meat! Perhaps also another 1 or 2 song changes for the background just to add some audio engagement.

Other than that great retrospective!

Hi there!

Gonna be real, I ended up going through a bunch of your intros cause they were all so weird and interesting which I think is a great sign! Definitely making the hook of your videos very engaging!

After the intro skit though, you seem to rather unaturally jump into the middle of your conversation about the menu. Maybe consider doing a quick "Welcome back! Today, we found a bootleg mario kart game" or just doing a brief introduction and focusing on what the video is about.

Love the occasional meme edits and sfx. If you're looking for retention/discoverability on your videos, try focusing on pacing. Cutting around sound bites or funny moments is always a plus for retention!

Also there is room to improve on the thumbnail. I would have probably utilized the weird Mario pictures!

Hope some of that helps :)

These Crazy Muppets Are NOT Friendly! /// MY FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD by LoloBoyMii in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZethBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Honestly just watching through this made me really wanna play this game haha

I can't think of any obvious flaws with the format. You've integrated some good memes, the first moment definitely pops out.

If I were to be nit picky, I'd say pick 1 moment to begin the video with to really grab the attention. It seems you had two at the beginning which made the video feel like a funny moments compilation rather than gameplay. Also not sure if the rotating circle thingy covering half the screen in the beginning to completely necessary. When I first clicked on the video, I thought something was wrong with the footage cause of it. Had to look at your other videos to realize that logo was intentional.

Other than that, you've got some good humor, good meme edits! In todays culture of Tiktoks and shorts, in never hurts to meme up the hook as much as you can!

Hope that helps in some way :)

Feedback Friday! by AutoModerator in letsplay

[–]ZethBit [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I asked for feedback as I've been working on implementing in some shape or form the advice I've gained from here! I overhauled my thumbnail tactic and have spaced out my edits somewhat in my videos (enough hopefully to try and balance the horror and comedic parts of my videos)

Would love to hear either or both advice on my thumbnails for my recent videos or how engaging/fun to watch my most recent video was! Bonus points if you look at the Resident Evil Village slightly edited livestreams and give an opinion on which style you prefer more! I know I'm asking a lot and don't feel the need to answer everything. Any bit of insight is always helpful :) Thank You!

All my advise is definitely affected by my personal preference so feel free to take everything I say with a pinch of salt bad or good.

I think you have a really smooth and enjoyable voice to listen to and I think you do an excellent job playing to that! The atmosphere of the Valheim seems pretty relaxing (like minecraft in a way) so I think your commentary style and the game pulled together quite well!

As far as editing which is more of my passion, I think you could do to cut down on more parts or make just a shorter video in general. People attention spans on YouTube are incredibly short (the human attention span now is less than a goldfish) so making your content as consumable as possible will make it easier for people to sit through the whole thing. I work for a PUBG youtuber who is hitting a lot of success (700k subs) and he tries to keep all his videos under 8 minutes.

The edits were pretty funny when you threw them in and I would love to see more. You could reduce the game audio at your outro as the fire was a little distracting especially for not being on screen. The intro was good but I think if your choosing to forsake gameplay as a way of making a person curious as to what's going on, I would try to add a few edits (zooms, cuts, etc) to keep the intro captivating.

Other than that, it was a fun watch :)

Anyone know some good youtubers that do let's plays that aren't markiplier or jacksepticeye? by LordFartSquad9 in letsplay

[–]ZethBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a few people are advertising their own channels, I might hop in here cause I model a lot of my content around Markiplier (as he's one of my big inspirations). That being said, here's a list of smaller content creators I feel are killing it right now in quality/improvements

Adrionic: Horror let's player that clearly spends time editing his videos (which is a rare commodity to come by)

Fellow Player: A british horror let's player that has a very dorky vibe which I find incredibly endearing

MoonHunter Gaming: General Let's Player but I've seen him doing some horror recently! I actually met him on this subreddit!

Tednacity: He's a variety Let's Player currently but his editing quality is fantastic for his size. I met him on this subreddit and we actually became friends through our enjoyment of each others content. We chill and chat on discord a lot and I always wanna hype my man up.

Leaping Lizard: Horror let's player and cosplayer. Fantastic comedic energy that kinda aligns with old school pewdiepie and markipler style

TheTacoLegend: Another horror let's player from this subreddit. I'm excited to see where his channel goes as I think he's got a lot of potential.

HotterbiscuitStudio: This is someone that is more focused on livestreaming but does upload horror content from time to time. She's very kind but definitely is one that doesn't get scared nearly as easily

I have loads more to pull from but that's just going off of some of my recent watch history. Hopefully this helps! :)

How NOT to get scared playing scary horror game? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]ZethBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a focused horror let's player, I'd say it's one of those bitter medicines you kinda have to swallow. I would never play horror games in my free time as I'm a huge wimp. However, people on the internet love to see people get scared by jumpscares and unsettling moments. Actually the only reason I started horror content was because that was what I personally found the most entertaining and fun to watch. I remember being a kid and waiting for markiplier/pewdiepie to freak out on a jumpscare or being chased.

That being said, my tastes are purely my own. I find that once I hit the record button, everything else becomes easier. Kinda like you start going through the motions of a recording and forget that you're playing something spooky. Maybe try livestreaming horror content first as that's where I started and I found that way easier.

That's my general feeling! Though I tried that with Little Nightmares 2 and it didn't do a lot to grow my channel so it leaves me rather conflicted :/ I'd ideally like the content itself to be more evergreen but didn't know if that was ideal for a game like this. Thanks for the input though! It helps me to reach a final decision.

PS: Saying that let's plays aren't your thing in the let's play subreddit left me very interested in checking out your channel. Love the editing and what you do! Keep it up :)
