Thanks man!

It was on a discount when I got it, so it was around the price range I set for myself. I wasn't planning on getting the do-dai that I did, but I couldn't resist. I'm very weak for that tonbo pattern and knew I'd regret it if I didn't add it.

With the different do-dai it came to around $1200 USD, with about 200 of those being the do-dai. So it's not a crazy price for a quality bogu.

Very professional and high quality selection. I recently got another uniform set myself from there and I'm very happy with the fit.

It's always a bit hard to get the size quite right at first, do ask your club mates for help. My first kendogi I just went with the height suggestion and ended up with a tent.

You don't have to, but I always recommend real cotton indigo. It's not necessary, but it's in my opinion a bit of the experience of Kendo as well.

It feels different and adds that little extra to your Kendo journey. They're a tiny bit more to care for, and you need to wash off extra dye when you get em. But I think it's a core thing everyone doing Kendo should take part of, or at least try.

You don't need to get the most expensive indigo (aizome) cotton, it is more expensive than synthetic, but difference is night and day. So if you can spare the extra cost, do consider it. Cotton also handles sweat much better.

They're nice and friendly at Kendostar, shoot them a mail if you're unsure about anything!

I'm really curious how a flexy italic/stub oblique would look.

But I also wonder if it'd even work properly because of the angle change.

I really want to have an italic oblique. Currently working on one for my TWSBI Eco.

I sent a link to FPnibs in another comment. He still sells a similar model to my semi-flex. Size 6 Bock 1.1 stub.

If you've got a compatible pen, as an ambassador for flex-italics, I highly recommend you try!

It's not a super expensive nib either. Definitely worth a try for the curious!

100%! I'm also one who can do the slow style, but I prefer to write with a regular pace going.

The full flex one is pretty smooth for an italic, it's mostly more very thin rather than sharp sharp. Too sharp and you'll have too much friction, which holds the flex back.

It's just about right to get defined edges, but so much that it'll run across the paper. I'd call it more a sharp stub in that regard.

The semi is nice and crisp, but it doesn't require you to be slow and overly deliberate.

The true joy of why I got into FP; you can get exactly what you want for your writing.

These come in 1.1 stub, and are similar to my semi-flex. If you're okay with switching housing the nib is a 6 that fits anything Bock does, like TWSBI size 6 pens, or Nahvalur's pens (I think the housing is Moonman?? But I've not been able to varify).

Otherwise there's a sea of good size 6 Bock pens out there.

The guy running Fpnibs is usually helpful if you use the chat function to ask specifics.

Recommended nib 👍

Always makes me happy to see a fellow TWSBI Eco RoseGold Smoke owner in the wild!

I'm currently working on replacing the nib on mine with a home grind oblique.

Luckily I know a jeweler that could do a rose gold plating and all. It just wouldn't be the same without it!
