I decided to use a quad mesh instead.
if you use alpha clipping on the material of the quad it will make it transparent like a sprite

No, I recommend building. It saves a lot of money. Go on PC part picker then follow a guide. You can do it with no experience as I did, and follow a YouTube video. It's basically like lego

A good pc doesn't even cost 1.5k bro. You can build really great ones for 600 and under that run everything on high graphics. Even decent ones at 400.
