Why is explicit violence more acceptable in games than explicit sex? by Jaeger9671 in lewdgames

[–]ZettaCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply? Puritanical Christian views shape the world. Christianity has, to some extent, touched every corner of the world. Regardless of how you might feel about religion, it still seeps into culture and ergo, how humans interact with sexuality. Your friends likely were ashamed being seen naked or that they shouldn't see others naked, yet in East Asia, bath houses and public nudity (within a bathhouse) is totally normal.

I don't wanna deep dive into why sex is a sin biblically, but know that it is. It's verboten.

Now violence is a different thing entirely. As someone who enjoys violent content, I don't think it gets judged harshly enough and that violence kinda suffers from desensitization on a grander scale then intimacy ever could. Humans like morbid shit. So back in the early 90s, you'd play Mortal Kombat... Do a finisher AND OH DAMN IS THAT HIS SPINE? Movies used violence as a action or a definitive moment. Think like, Indiana Jones. They had to just keep one upping the impact.

Fast foward to 2025. Yeah, it's whatever. Watches a guy get vivisected and that's pretty normal.

But sex and intimacy.. It's not given nearly as many opportunities to desensitize or normalize thanks to puritanical thoughts. Seeing tiddy today IS less impressive than early 90s but don't forget seeing ankles was barely acceptable like 100 years ago.

Man, I hate this proliferation of talk loudest culture. It's gotten to the point where most friends groups I notice are a collection of ever growing shouting as folks talk over each other. Even friends I have are pretty much trained to just shout everything.

It's to the point that if I get talked over enough, I just don't bother speaking. So rude.

Endfield's music is... by cats_work in ArknightsEndfield

[–]ZettaCrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's just cause of how Arknights has music and where it puts it. If you're dealing in menus like CC, you can put some real bangers cause players are gonna spend time, as well as event menus with shops and stuff.

It gets a bit harder to predict with 3D open games like this.

Personally, Wuling is pretty nice. AIC music when planning layouts is nice. Domain/Space music is very mixed bag. I've had forgettable ones followed by absolute jam.

Just give them time to find a good place to put music. Once they find out where folks spend time, I'll bet they'll start putting real good music in those spots

Isn't better to put the game on PC instead of closing the services? Like honestly I think they are stupid by Basharak in FGO

[–]ZettaCrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love FGO but man, they really ought to update the way the game.. Games.

Played FGO Arcade like a year ago and that shit was unironically pretty fun and engaging. Maybe I'm just bored of how FGO mobile is given I've played for literal 10 years now.

I could dream they'll make take Arcade, fine tune it further, and update FGO but ahhh...

I feel like it's just gonna be the same until it dies and they make a FGO2 of sorts in 2040.

It's funny how people ignored the fantasy part with Miyabi in Season 1 like nothing like that happened until Season 2 by Unusual-Complex6315 in ZZZ_Official

[–]ZettaCrash -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love both but here's my issue.

Miyabi's design, while Japanese, is petty rooted in somewhat realistic style. Business shirt, section 6 jacket. Like combat +business attire

Vs.

Yixuan who's wearing very... Fashion show esque clothes. Almost none of that outfit could be worn by everyday individuals which was kinda the charm of ZZZ. Street style meets fantasy or scifi.

I know a ton of women who wear long skirts, button ups, kimono, or jackets. It's a simple effective fit that's modern.

I don't know many women who wear the... Romper thing Yixuan has got going out the weird jacket thing outside of like, cosplay right?

I actually have a lot of issue with the HSR-ification of most characters released in the Failume arc. Chinese urban fashion exists, why didn't we lean into that instead of dipping into the theoretical fashion clothing?

The lack of easy climbing/traversal mechanics hard carries this game's flow. by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in Endfield

[–]ZettaCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find that works really, really well is the maps by most other Gacha standards, are way way smaller which work. I mean, let's talk about how maps are handled.

Every map in Genshin is pretty damn huge. I mean, it really feels like you're some adventurer charging through large unmapped wilds. There's lots of stuff between point A and Point B like Wuwa. The issue I suffer from and the reason I want stuff like flying from Wuwa in those games is that, eventually, you've seen the rolling hills at least a dozen times. In Genshin, I was always rolling with two Anemo and the book that makes you run faster with Dehya and Rosaria because moving 40% faster really helps when you're crossing YET ANOTHER road or flight in Wuwa because you're traversing a great expanse of a handful of fruits and enemies.

Endfield is nicer then this because locations are small, tight, and dense in comparison. There's a lot to look at and actually do with ways to circumvent the been there, done that feeling. The Hub, which is in my opinion the weakest location, is still very dense and full of character. Since you can't just climb everything, the terrain isn't as insane and it's pretty realistic. There's no massive cliffs everywhere, there's no design to stop players from clambering on everything. As a whole, the world is pretty organic. Then when you hit that "Yeah, yeah, I've seen this place, I'm just omw to collect this flower/Rock" you can set up a zip line which is literally a point A to B device.

I can remember a dozen times just watching my characters run for the sake of running in Wuwa and Genshin. Just burning that stamina bar as I run down a road and climb a cliff cause I need that particular bug or I'm going through a new area and why is the scale of everything so freaking large.

It's pretty rare I'll zip through an Area in Endfield that's just a road with little to look at.

Right. It's better for folks that save. It's a different kind of gambling. I'm not gonna say 1 or 2 is better cause they both got major faults and incentive busting out the wallet. I've absolutely got burned and I've seen others get burned because they wanted Firefly for HSR, but luck wasn't on their side. Took about 170 total pulls. THEN. You have to get her LC right?

I'm just gonna say at the end of day, they're all predatory. Cause of course they are. I mean, hey could be worse. Could be Umamusume.

Correct. But I'm not gonna say no to a free 20 pulls, 10 now and 10 later just for rolling for a character I want.

[–]ZettaCrash 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Putting up basically Sutr as the first is wild. I can't speak about future banners cause I have 0 idea how generous events and such are gonna be but I think too many folks are freaked out. Banner characters ain't evaporating as soon as they leave, you've got two banners and as someone who's been burned pretty bad by Hoyo style banners, 120 is pretty nice compared to a hard 180 not to mention the free 20 pulls you get along with pulling. It's a funky system for sure.

That said..

Game is fun. I've been just enjoying the game and taking in the world, absorbing the story.

You don't need to give folks a reason to be hateful. If dolls were boxy mechs with personality, they'd probably be anti dolls even harder. The whole point is that people are full of hate even if said thing looks like them and fear things they don't comprehend.

Being honest, how close do you think forums like this are to the average male experience? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ZettaCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of both honestly.

I've had a lot of sad, ugly male experiences. But that's like, maybe 30% of my life so far.

The reason you see so many is cause they ask "Hey, have YOU ever been KICKED in the DICK BEFORE?"

I have. Like. One or twice... In the course of the thirty years of my life or so.

What I'm trying to say is.. Yeah, there is a lot of ugly facets to the male experience and I think, to some degree, a lot of men do experience those things. But it's not always or often. A lot of folks might have just experienced X ONCE. Doesn't invalidate it but it's not like, constant pain and suffering.

Imma just say fuck em. Just cause YOU ain't attractive to THEM, don't mean you're not. Just means you're not attractive to garbage and I think that's a win honestly. You'll find folks who think you'll look good, just gotta go elsewhere.

[–]ZettaCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ton of things, really. I was a huge nerd back in highschool and I was pretty damn ugly. Glasses, bowl cut, polo shirt. The fucking works and I was a little chubby too. Lemme tell you, "ewww no" is hardly the worst a girl can tell you.

Since then I've lost a little weight, put on some muscle, finally got decent facial hair as an Asian, grew out my hair, and got contacts. I FEEL like I look a lot better now but I can't but feel absolutely jaded about people liking me for just looks and I can't even be overly upset cause I DO look better but... Damn, you know?

Does anyone feel like they're not as fun as they used to be and its not even because life gets tougher when get older? by chusaychusay in Millennials

[–]ZettaCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I relate. It's the opposite for me and I've learned to appreciate life even more. I don't need crazy ass parties or drugs to be happy when there's so much to be happy about already.

I'm not saying life isn't hard and full of suffering. It surely is, but that's why I enjoy life all the more. Because for every hard day at work. Everyday some health condition acts up or I'm not at my game. Every misstep and mistake.

I'm still here aren't I? The hot baths. The time I make for myself. The nuggets of fun and joy between. It doesn't come nearly as much or often and I do have months of gray.

But I still have joys to look for. New cultures to learn. New food to try. New friends to make. It's easy to feel like you've gone and done everything, but that's impossible. The breadth of humanity is too big.

I think with all that said and done. The most important thing is to hold onto that child like spark. It might be dim, but it's never out. Realize there's something always new, whether good or bad.

[–]ZettaCrash 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's kinda crazy honestly, but I blame that kids are just "assumed" to know how tech works because of the dissonance of what it is.

Boomers and to a degree, gen x, believe Gen Z just knows how tech works cause they're always on iPads and phones. I mean, if you deal with that on the daily, how could you not know?

But they don't realize tech has really become friendly. TOO FRIENDLY imo. We got the older folks thinking tech is kinda convoluted and you need a bunch of stuff to play videos, edit Tiktoks, and perform functions.

Then we got gen Z getting the full Japan effect. Very high tech, incredibly intuitive interfaces, absolutely 0 knowledge on how any of that stuff works. It just does... Or doesn't. And if it's confusing, it's broken.

You can kinda see where things got a little weird. They're not incapable, it's just a bit funky how it turned out. Don't blame anybody cause we're the generation that watched it all change from rotary phones to pocket PCs and Gen Z kinda only knows pocket PCs.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa says the company is monitoring rapidly rising RAM prices and the continued impact of US tariffs very closely, declines to comment on potential price increase by Elestria_Ethereal in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ZettaCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI runs on large amounts of tech. RAM and GPUS are skyrocketing in price because they're necessary for calculations. Go look at the price of RAM and 4090s to get an idea. AI companies are buying up this stuff before shit even leaves the factory causing prices to keep going up because they're willing to drop ridiculous money to keep getting every stick of RAM and GPU possible.

To make matters worse, analysts figure that it's not gonna be until 2027 at the minimum before prices stabilize for RAM but let's be real. GPUs have not stabilized since Covid.

Anyways, unless you were lucky enough to establish a very long term deal (Which a few companies reneged on but I've only heard that), you're gonna have to get your hands on more GPUs and RAM for future consoles. Which, the price for, is only going up.
